Depends on how you define the word "gay". If you mean "gay " as in
joyful, he does have a song out called "I Could Get Used To Being
Happy." Sometime, you ought to listen to the song "Rumor Mill." George
Younce did it on a Cathedrals tape and it's on his latest solo project.
It applies well to this sort of post.

Rumormill is on the Cathedral project 'Individually' from 1980 or 1981.
The Younce project is called 'That Says It All.' The latter is at most
Christian book stores. The former probably is unavailable unless George
is still taking mail orders. A great song that we all could stand to
listen to before we pick up those telephones or keyboards!!!!!!!!

For the longest time Mark was dating Janet Paschal. With his great taste in
women I am sure he is not gay, probably just devastated that his love got
married last year.

What is all of this? Why is time spent on this kind of garbage? I honestly
believe that there are some people on this list (I am not speaking about Mr.
Slopak) who would love to bring back crucifixion as a method of punishment
from the way it looked like Mike English was treated in this list.

I didn't even take the time to see who started this thread as I delete read
posts as soon as I read them. Whoever started the thread by asking if Mark
was gay should have their internet access cut off. If we worried about lost
and dying souls one-tenth as much as we seem to enjoy shredding fallen
Christians and asking asinine questions as this one....well let's just say
that it would be Heaven's gain.

Please, please use a little temperance and common sense when posting
something to this group. How would you like it if someone posted a question
to a newsgroup wondering if you were homosexual? At least you would see the
post and could somewhat defend yourself. I doubt that Mark ever reads the
posts to this group which as of late, may not be a bad thing.

I ask you all to do one thing before you post......think.

This wasn't sent with intention to hurt feelings or to flame any certain
individual but I would imagine that I will get a fair share of brow-beating
responses. Don't waste our time as I have ignored this thread nor will I
respond to hateful messages.

After all, this group was created for Southern Gospel Music lovers.

Thanks,

Kevin Jackson

The person who started this thread was obviously a "troll" in usenet slang.
Every time you reply, you are taking the "bait," to continue the fishing
analogy. The subject line is the key. Note that I changed it before
replying, and I snipped all references to the subject line from your
message. A troller gets glee in seeing other people perpetuate the subject
line by getting angry and replying.

The best method I've found for dealing with trolls is to ignore them, and if
they persist in writing stuff you don't want to see, use a killfile.

Yes, I agree. Let's judge them guilty of... judging other people. But
wait, they have no evidence, and we have... a one line newsgroup note.

But still... let's cut them off! Yes! I mean, if they stay connected and
keep talking to people, they may learn forgiveness and love, and we wouldn't
want that to happen.

I am a non-Christian who happens to love Southern Gospel. (Don't try to
make sense of it... just believe me.) I find it absolutely funny that
Christians sing songs like "and they'll know we are Christians by our love,"
then behave like this.

I guess I can use your words (paraphrased) to sum my thoughts on those of
you looking down on the others in this group.

"If you worried about lost and dying souls one-tenth as much as you seem to
enjoy shredding other Christians in newsgroups and making asinine statements
about cutting off peoples' internet access....well let's just say that it
would be Heaven's gain and my pleasure."

Mr. Weeks,

I did not judge the individual but the individual's actions. My friend,
there is a difference.

Forgiveness and love are vital in a Christian's life. But there is also
something called accountability, which is often left out of the discussion
when talking about forgiveness and love.

I just pray that you will one day take your eyes off of other Christians and
look to Jesus Christ. You will always find fault and hypocrisy when looking
at other people and not at Jesus Christ.

Starting right now, as you read this very line of text, I am praying for
your salvation.

Respectfully,
Kevin Jackson

Gay or not, Who gives a shit? Stop being righteous, start being Christian.  There are bigger things to worry about.   Like will he be raising funds for the new famine in Ethiopia?

I am mainly a person that just reads the post and keeps my fingers
still, but I don't understand where a person would get that Mark Lowry
said anything about being gay. And it is none of my business one way or
the other. I have read other post about Michael English, Sandy Patti
and others. Instead of rumors shouldn't we be on our knees praying for
one another, that the Lords will be done. What has been going on is
people are saying things, either we little or no facts, and even if the
things are true we should not be spreading things around, we should
pray.

Now I will go back and just read the post as I have been doing. I will
also be praying for others as well as my self that The Lords will be
done.

Actually according to Mark, Janet and Mark's Mamma they were never dating, they
were just friends. And Mark was far from devasted that Janet got married, he
was very happy for her and John!
