I might be incorrect, but I don't think there's many "Perry's" in the
Perrys either?

The Perrys were originally a trio consisting of two sisters and a
brother IIRC: Randy, Debbie, and Libbi. Libbi Stuffle is the only Perry
currently in the group.
Faith Hill's maiden name was originally Perry wasn't it?
I think all of that is correct...James Hales, where ya at, brother? :-)
Diana Gillette's maiden name was Perry and as Grigsby has said, it was
originally a trio of sisters. Even after the other sisters left, it remained
a family group . . . Angela is Diana's daughter, IIRC, and I believe Tammy
is a neice . . . not sure about that, but Tammy was the driving force behind
the group there for the last five or six years. Angela quit several years
before the group stopped traveling, but Diana and Tammy continued. They went
thru a string of non-family members at the third slot for a while . . .
Karen Akemon, Jada Hite, and others.
I was in a rather sub-par group that opened for them once around 1992 or
1993. At that time, it was Diana, Tammy, and Angela singing, with Tammy's
husband (Randy? Rodney? Underwood) playing bass and Diana's husband (Bob?
Gillette) playing drums.
You might compare the difference in name to the Nelons . . . actually two
Clarks and a Thompson (briefly it was three Clarks and a Thompson), but no
one is surprised they go by "The Nelons" since one is the daughter of Rex
Nelon at another is the grand daughter and the third is a son in law.
Question for Hank Gillette . . . any connection to the Perry Sisters?

Diana had some heart problems. From what I heard it was brought on
from the stress of the road.
They were a good group. The original members were Diana, Carol, and
Bonnie. Tammy was Bonnie's daughter. Bonnie had surgery a while
back, and ended up being the first sister to come off the road. Then
a couple of years later, Carol came off the road. And it was just
Diana, her daughter Angie and Tammy.
Then Angie left after she got married, and they hired Karen Akeman
(now Crawford married to Randy), then they hired Jada something.
Since they have retired with the exception of a date or two here and
there.
