This CD set has demos for the album Selling England by the Pound, and
a couple of unreleased song demos.
There's also a couple songs from Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks in
there too.
Hurry there!
It's also available at Furthur Network along with about 20 other SHN & mp3
Genesis Bootlegs & studio demo type thingies. Don't forget to make them
available for upload if you do download them, the more active sources the
better.

Aren't these the same tracks from *In The Beginning* Vol 5 ??

A Man With Far Too Much Time On His Hands
I'm not sure. I'm not a big collector. I only have the albums and
B-sides, I typically don't try to find demos or live shows. I was
just posting for the sake of those who might be interested in
downloading the songs.
Regarding getting the songs, I use Free Agent, which automatically
combined all the parts together into one file. There are other news
readers that should have the ability to grab multipart binaries.

Yes. And Vol 4.

These recordings are absolutely priceless. Listening to how these
classic tracks were written, rehearsed and constructed in a
home-studio environment is totally magical. I am amazed there is not
a greater response to this original post. If you are an early Genesis
fan you MUST get these tracks if you have not heard them. It is
fascinating listening to the interplay between these five young guys
making the music, which we now all know so well.
I would love to know where it is possible to get other recordings of
this kind, and if anybody can e-mail me and let me know, I would be
eternally grateful.
I am not interested in live material, but studio out-takes and
rehearsal tapes from the most important era of Genesis are incredibly
interesting in my opinion.

I'm sure I missed some, anyone else want to add anything?
JRS
Well, I do not have any of these! Are there any other newsgroups
apart from the one mentioned where one can find this material? The
I.T.B. collection sounds amazing. I would LOVE to get my hands on any
of this stuff, up to T.O.T.T.
I have never found anything using FutureNet or Morpheus etc...
I find it a shame that Genesis could not make this stuff available on
one of the two Archive box sets, especially the second one which
really was rather poor. The Mama jam thing is IMHO abismal and just
highlighted for me the terminal decline and signalled the lack of
future invention or ideas.
These recordings from the early rehursals highlight for me how
innovative they were in the 70's.

**PHEW** !!!
Am I glad I took that chance and *didn't* take the time to d/l them !!!

Re the Q I asked...
These are taken from a 5 disc set called *In The Beginning* which is
*mostly* from the studio sessions from The Lamb and Selling England, but
there are also various others like Happy the Man and Silver Song.. and a few
by Anthony Phillips..
?????
SIX ???
> "Studio", "Cryme","Happy the Man", the Lamb
> outtakes (also available on ITB). From the Hackett era, there is "A
> Trick of the Takes", and one other title that is almost the same thing,
*Cryme* I have, and *Trick*
But I've never heard of the others! Any good??
> from the 3 man era, there's "Abacab Complete", and from the Wilson era,
> "Alternate Calling All Stations"
Hmmm.....
These sound interesting too!

This 5 disc set is some underground item, then. Available from dodgy and
transient sources only... or?

I dunno.. I remember a thread about 3 years ago (maybe not that long) that
discussed the set.. I *think* the longer set was just the same tracks spread
over 6 disks instead of 5.. but I could be wrong...
(I actually typed out the entire listings of all 5 disks last time this
discussion raised it's head.. I'm sure as sh*t not doing THAT again!!!)

One of my *lesser* post-to NGs..

(That said.. my input here has dropped SHARPLY over the last year or two...)

Well, each disc of my 6 disc set is over 70 minutes long, so I don't think mine
is a 5 disc set spread over 6. However, I understand that the whole ITB series
was redone with bonus tracks and that is what I've got.
As for typing the whole list, I think all this info is at Simon's site:
Those who want info on all the studio boots will find a category there dedicated
to just that...

First, click on live recordings. Then click on the picture of a studio mixing
board just to the right of the CAS album cover. It's in there....
??????

I didn't see that pic...
Maybe the whole page hadn't loaded.... Cheers Jr...
It's definitely there:-)

Oh I found it.... ;' )
But I noticed that the listing there is slightly incomplete.
Disc four is missing *one* of the listings for the battle of epping forest,
and the last track (The Cinema Show (strudio take, no lyrics) )
But, yes... Annoying.. WAY too much stuff there I don't have !!!
