i've never had the pleasure of posting here, but i've been a big genesis
fan since the 70s, and i've been wondering whether there's a definitive
story stating the origin of the title of 'the lamb...' if so, please
let me know. if there are various theories but nothing definitive, i'd
be most grateful for any and all contributions to my little research
project.

as a token of my appreciation for the kind responses i'm figuring on
getting, i'm going to take a photo of peter that i took in 1978 from the
first row of the palladium in nyc to my buddy's scanner and post it here
or on a website or something for all to see. i promise you'll be
psyched to see it. i was a prof'l photog in those days and got some
unreal shots at that show.

thanks in advance. please copy your replies to my email address.

best, larry

Best place to start would be to download Scott McMahon's Genesis discography
which, apart from many other items, included the Annotated Lamb Lies Down On
Broadway.

Also, much as we'd all love to see your photo of PG, this is a text-only
newsgroup so please don't post binaries. Stick it on a Web site and tell us
the URL.

Ive always thought and still do that Rael was meant as a part of GabRAEL so
much of the lamb is inward focus on his being and feelings at the time...

Everything known or guessed about the Lamb is in:

How To Get
The Genesis Discography

ANNOUNCING: The New, Typeset Version!

The Genesis Discography has been typeset
for the first time in history.
When you print this version out, it's just like a book.

Note: Currently, available as a Word 97 document. If you
don't have Word 97, a free viewer is available from Microsoft.
Future plans include a plain text and PostScript version.

NEW ***************************************************** <-----
URL http://lighthouse.softbase.com/~scott/genesis NEW
----> ***************************************************** URL
LATEST VERSION: January, 1998

This is announcement posted frequently by Discography
editor Scott McMahan.

What is The Genesis Discography? It is the Genesis fan's
companion, a compendium of information about the band and its
releases. Some of the stuff you'll find includes:

- Information on band members and other personalities
- Albums and singles and other releases by the band
- Solo albums and singles and other releases by all
current, former, and other band members and almost members
- Bootlegs, radio shows, and other unofficial releases
- A complete Brand X discography
- A brief history of Genesis
- Explanation of Elements in Songs -- literary, historical,
mythological, British references in songs are explained.
- The Annotated Lamb Lies Down on Broadway -- what is the
Lamb about, anyway?
- Tour Dates, Set Lists, And Gear -- what they played when
using what instruments.

If there's a question you have about Genesis that the
Discography does not answer, I'd be surprised -- let me know
and I'll include it! Before you ask anywhere else, this
document should be your first stop. That's what it is for.

The URL for the Discography is:

Seems a bleedin' obvious thing when you see it in front of you,
but I'd never thought of the Rael - Gabriel connection like that
before. Thanks for a new perspective....

Interesting. I also thought there was a relation to Rael's "un-real"
world to what was actually "real" (real vs. rael, New York City vs.
the underground perfect reconstruction of...).

Several perspectives on a fabulous album!
