Special has WON for Best Special Effects in a Music Video!!!

Surprisingly enough they won with only 1 nomination compared to last year's 8
nom shut out (I personally think it was MUCH better than Madanna!). Oh well.
Great news for Garbage. As a reply to an earlier post, they did not accept the
award because it was given in the preshow. If they will be there, only time
can tell.!

Dawn Shadforth, no? Personally, I think Special was one of Garbage's poorest
videos. It seems rather silly, I think, to have put the band in fighter
planes.
My favorite Garbage video, of course, is Push It :o) It nearly ranks up with
the best Bjork videos (Hunter, Bachelorette, Hyperballad, etc.).

Well,the award was for the effects not the content/storyline.
Anyway,it should be good publicity for the Singles Video when it's
released - they can put one of those stickers on the case saying
"includes MTV Award winner Special" or whatever! :0)

which features an interview with her, the director.

The award probably goes to the person responsible for the "special
effects"(Shawn Broughton) and not the director of the vid.....
There were two separate awards for directors - Best Direction and Best
Art Direction
