Hello all,
My name is Ron.
I've gotten into Garbage thru bootleg trades and really like them.I know
nothing about them tho so was hoping someone could give me a little info on
them.Just some basic stuff,no need for detailed info ( unless you really
want to.I won't mind :O) ).I take it they're Scottish,at least the
singer. That's about all I know really.

I plan on picking up some oficially released stuff.Could someone recommend a
good one for the first pick?

If anyone wants to do some boot trades for this band drop me a line.I have
about 10 - 12 shows on cdr of Garbage and a lot more from other bands.
CDR only,DAO and prefer artwork with shows.

Thanks
Ron

Hey Ron,

Glad to meet you. Here is alittle information on Garbage. There are 5
members, Butch Vig (drums, producer), Duke Erikson (guitar), Steve Marker
(guitarist and keyboards) Daniel Shuman (bass) and lastly, Shirley Manson
(vocals, soon to be guitar). Everone is American except Shirley. Back in
1994-95, Butch, Duke and Steve were into remixing music, and one day they
realized that they could make some REALLY AWESOME music from remixing, but
none of them could sing, so they started looking for a lead singer. One
night, around 3 am, Steve Marker was watching MTV and there was show called
120 minutes, which was about underground or aspiring bands and that is where
they saw Shirley Manson, singing in a Scottish band called Angelfish. They
all loved Shirley's voice and Butch contacted Scotland and invitied Shirley
to come to Madison, Wisconsin to their studio and sing some tracks. At
first, she didn't do so well, but the boys loved her raw vocal lyrics and
vixen-like voice, so they decided to offer her the job. There first album
was just called self titled GARBAGE (someone said that there remixing sound
like GARBAGE, so the name stuck). Their first album is considered one the
most influencial records of the 90's. In early 98, Garbage released their
second album called VERSION 2.0. This album was much more "power pop" and
not so dark as the first album, but it was again considered ANOTHER great
album of the 90's. Now, Garbage is working on their 3rd album and it should
be out sometime around 2001. It is going to be much more raw and dark then
the VERSION 2.0, but a perfect mix of the 1st and 2nd album. If you want to
see pics, ready Shirley's updated diary, go to www.garbage.com. Or go under
YAHOO.com and look up Garbage. There are plenty of GREAT sites out
there...Hope that helps...whew :)

Hey Ryan,
Thanks for the info.Sorry about your fingers.:O) That's a lot of typing.
I recognize Butch Vig's name from a NIN remix.
I'm planning on getting those two and will watch for the new one.
Thanks
Ron
