I didn't think the last show was sad at all.

Shirley was giggling the whole night, often unable to sing
properly because she was having such a good time.

She did a lot of talking to the crowd and during some songs, she was
rolling around on the stage floor like Madonna doing "Virgin."

Did did some cool dry-humping with Aimee Echo from The Start
during OHWIR and they couldn't stop laughing the whole song.

If they broke up, it didn't seem like it Thursday night,

Garbage Has No Plans to Split Up
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050922/ap_en_mu/garbage;_ylt=AqiIT7ld8g_BCm19rmqub_mVEhkF;_ylu=X3oDMTBiMW04NW9mBHNlYwMlJVRPUCUl

SYDNEY, Australia - Garbage lead singer Shirley Manson says the
Scottish rock band, which is about to take a break after a grueling
tour, isn't planning to split up.

"We have discussed this and I don't think anybody is interested in
breaking up," Manson said.

"We feel that this has been a really great tour and we feel that we
have really muscled through and produced a great record, and we just
want to take some time off while things are really good between us,"
she said.

The band earlier announced that it was canceling dates in France,
Belgium and Britain in October.

"Having been constantly on the road since the beginning of March the
band feel they have somewhat overextended themselves and have mutually
decided to conclude their tour at the end of September in Australia,"
Garbage said in a posting on its Web site.

Manson said she was desperate for some time off.

"I don't think I have seen a single green vegetable in three months, so
I just need to get my life into some sort of sense of control," she
said.

She also slammed Australian band INXS for using a reality show to find
a replacement for its former lead singer, Michael Hutchence, who
committed suicide in 1997.

Canadian J.D. Fortune was chosen as INXS' new lead singer for an
upcoming tour as the climax to CBS' "Rock Star: INXS."

"It isn't INXS without Michael Hutchence," said Manson.

"I feel like in life you have to be prepared to let go of something in
order for new growth to occur in your life. And I think it is unhealthy
to be constantly coming back to recreate the past," she said. "You
should forge forward instead of being sentimental about things that
have gone by."

Breakup talk not garbage

ROCK band Garbage will split after their Australian tour this month.

Singer Shirley Manson confirmed the million-record selling band will
take an indefinite "hiatus" after the tour ends.
"We've not stopped for 10 years," the Scot said in Melbourne
yesterday.

"We always swore if it wasn't 100 per cent fun we'd stop it. So that's
what we've decided to do. It was important for us to say 'we're tired,
this is becoming hard, we should stop right now'.

"It's something we all felt was the right move. We discussed it in an
adult fashion over dinner one day and since then a burden has been
lifted from everybody and our live shows have been incredible."

Garbage's impressive string of hit singles include Vow, Cherry Lips,
Queer, Stupid Girl, Only Happy When It Rains, Push It, When I Grow Up,
Why Do You Love Me?, Run Baby Run, Androgyny and Special.

Rumours of a split first surfaced when Garbage cancelled the European
leg of their world tour, due to take place after Australia.

Diehard fans are flying from across the globe to see the final show on
the Australian tour in Perth on October 1.

Manson, however, said rather than any tension in the band -- who
almost split during the making of current album Bleed Like Me -- it
was being in "a good place" that led to the amicable split.

"Things feel really positive in the band, which makes it a good time
to take a break.

"We just feel we've reached the end of our tether in terms of our
touring cycle. I'm tired and I feel my life is out of control to a
certain degree. I just need to get home. The rest of the band feels
the same.

"As the life of a band continues you start to reassess your life and
the role music plays in it."

But Manson said the band do not rule out regrouping in the future.

"I don't think we feel Garbage will ever be completely over. It's part
of our lives, we still all get on well and love each other. We're
taking a hiatus, I don't know if we're calling it a day."

Manson admits contemplating a solo career.

"It's something I will undoubtedly pursue at some point, but I don't
think I'll ever make music with another band," Manson said.

Garbage play the Palais on Monday and the Forum next Wednesday.
