A very, very long list could be developed! For science and academia
combined, start with almost every song written by Dr. Jane Robinson
and her CDs are excellent. Seanan McGuire's (cadla on LJ) Pretty
Little Dead Girl is worth buying for Maybe I'm Crazy alone, given your
interest (she is in love with Frankenstein - the scientist, not the
monster), but the rest is great too. The laughter is from the antics
on stage when she performed it at OVFF. I think Black Death will be
on her next one.
Brooke Lunderville (hsifyppah on LJ) and John Caspell (Dr. Filk) do a
whole Mad Scientist Cafe concert set. Gary McGath (madscientist)
might the best source for a list of math songs. Any Frank Hayes CD
will have some science songs like Cosmos.
If your science interest extends to explorers, vixy's Strange
Messenger, on 13, is wonderful.
Others will add to this.
Seanan's new album has a mad-science *theme*. She's taking pre-orders for
it now:

While I'm admittedly very biased, I will say that based on the quality of
her first two CDs alone, everyone should go and pre-order this one, because
the sooner she gets her pre-orders, the sooner the CD can come out.

Gary's LJID is madfilkentist, not madscientist.
