Finally just got this. Since I already have the songs on it on other discs
I pretty much avoided it. Damn. What a fine performance. I'm a major
Dream Theater fan too, but I'd have to say FW is better live than DT. At
least on this recording. Did Ray do any studio overdubs? Anybody know?
Not that it matters really. I love the stuff.

If only Fates would get the recognition (I feel) they deserve. Very
talented and powerful stuff.

Right enough of my griping.

Both bands are awesome live, although I'd have to say Dream
Theater is a bit more impressive (I haven't seen Fates with
2 guitars though).

But, Still Life is definitely a superior recording to, say,
Once in a Livetime.

they can not get the recognition they deserve. then they would make $$$.
and we all know that if you make $$$ in the entertainment business, you're a
sell out.
besides, fates wont go anywhere until jim broadens his horizons.
say, play a fucking minor scale once in a while.

Lets see; they have been with Metal Blade for how long? The longest
reputation with the label. They have sold a minimum of 100,000 units per
release. This is a band who truly does have a core audience.
I didn"t start listening to them up until about "95".

I've been a fan since No Exit. I liked all their stuff from that point
onward especially their latest release Disconnected, which is awesome
