i couldnt agreee with you more. jon hudson sucked ass. he had no stage
presence, he just stood there. deen was a great live guitarist...it looked
like the band had the most fun on stage with dean in the mix
>dean menta.

Dean seemed to fit FNM more as well. His whole presence was very FNM-like while
Jon didnt feel like he ever fit the bands style and presence.

it would have been interesting to see how Trey would have fit in if he stuck
with the group.

yikes! actually, I meant Trey, not Dean. Trey was always my fave pre-Jim
guitarest.

he had an arsenal of 6 strings...he changed practically for each single
track...he used fender strats, gibson sg, les pauls...

every one knock it off...jim was the best, he worte the best solos, he fit
faith no more best because faith no more was a web of opposites, once one side
of the web was detatched the whole web went to one side and it was never the
same.(a spider web cant exist without all sides being connected) .although kfad
and aoty were great angeldust was the most genius....jims presence was great
cuz he didnt fit...the best part of faith no more was their mismatch to
eachother..you had 5 completely different guys, dean just acted like any other
active punk/alternative guitar player..the fact that he fit in presence wise
isnt the greatest thing because the best thing about faith no more was their
differences not their similarities... everyone defends him the most but they
forget dean was the one who couldnt make the grade when the writing process
came in...jon did a great job writing collision and stripsearch and had a big
part in alot more of the album, to me presence wise dean was too happy and jon
wasnt too active but to compare the two jon would win cuz he can write
great..jim was the best cuz he was evil and brought a dark side to the band,
and stablized the WEB both on stage and in the studio

I think that you all missed my point. I didn't ask for your opinion on
his playing or stage presence, personally i think trey was best but, I
saw a video of them from a festival in europe (non bootleg, and of
course a bootleg will sound shit!!), and his sound was huge, I could
just see his gear but couldn't quite make it all out. So if anyone an
answer my original question instead of going off on theses stupid
tangents it would be greatly appreciated.

it goes into these differences in detail in The Real Story... personally, i
agree that it was jim's differences with the rest of the band that made AD
such a great fucking album. unfortunate that by that time the differences
were unreconcilable... doh.

> everyone defends him the most but they

well, neither did jim, in a way... the only song he wrote on AD was
Jizzlobber, and supposedly alot of songs from those sessions were scrapped
because the other members didnt like the guitar parts he wrote. his solo
stuff isnt exactly great either, so maybe he's sort of lost his touch...

personally, i was never all that impressed with any of them, and dont think
any of them really "fit in." i think they all served their purpose, and i
think jim didnt fit in better than the other two didnt fit in, if that makes
any sense.

> your'e right except Jim didnt record much on Angel Dust according to the

he recorded all of it, i think... it was Another Body Murdered which had
Billy playing guitars on it.

I think Bill played guitar on malpractice too, but I'm not sure.

faith no more even said once, half of king for a day wouldnt have even made it
past the writing table if jim were still in the band cuz he rejected alot of
their extreme left winged ideas

it wont be answered because i dont KNOW the answer... so, considering this,
let me state my fucking opinions without listening to you crap about it.

i mean, shit, god forbid anyone actually talk about the fucking subject of
the ng.

carhlo vodor
star AD
last to know
and although its one of my favs, i cant see jim giving just a man the ok...

dont get me wrong i love kfad and angeldust, they both have their seprate high
points, BUT i dont know if most of kfad would have gotten past jim, jim seems
to be more conventional than kfad...and compared to kfad, AD was more
conventional, at least to me...kfad is alot more extreme, alot more raw

Yeah, that makes total sense. I recall... I didn't like KFAD much when I first
heard it! Apart from the more, ah, accessible songs like diggin, and gentle art,
evidence, just a man. It took a while to grow on me, and it is a lot more 'raw'.
I guess there would have been no Star AD if Jim had been there - tragedy! I love
it. The final thing wouldn't have been a shit sandwich. And that wouldn't do!
