hmmmm from metal hammer site:

18 October 2000 Papa Roach, North California's hottest
new rock band, have exclusively revealed to Metal
Hammer that they are recording a track for a forthcoming
Faith No More tribute album.

The band will shortly record 'The Gentle Art Of Making
Enemies', a track which appeared on FNM's overlooked
classic 'King For A Day… Fool For A Lifetime'.

Coby Dick, the Roach's lead singer, told the 'Hammer:
"Faith No More really inspired a lot of bands and 'King For
A Day…' is in my all-time top five albums. I don't know
who else if on the album but I think Korn and Deftones will
also record tracks. We're very excited about it and I can't
wait to get in the studio."
********

Hmm so one good band on the album, and it aint PR or Korn folks.
I'm sorry but i kind take seriously a band who use the rap:
"My names Coby, Mr Dick if you're nasty
I rock the mike with a voice that is raspy"

The URL, just in case anyone wanted to see this
is at http://www.metalhammer.co.uk/news0006230.asp

and if this turns out to actually be happening, may I add
a resounding " woo hoo". (I do have the sinking feeling that
the only band worth hearing on the album will be the deftones)

system of a down and incubus will likely be on it if word gets around to them,
with hopefully some "unheard of" bands that MIGHT do a decent job. I wish this
wouldn't come out at all, I don't even want to hear Deftones, as much I like
them, or ANY band try to cover FNM on record.

Good lord, I hope Helloween's 'From Out of Nowhere' doesn't end up on there.
Apocalyptica did a cool version of that song, though.

Looking forward to it. Just hope there's a wide enough variety of bands to do

with the known exceptions of Deftones/SOAD/Incubus, I guess it would be good

Well.... FNM has been around since the early 80's. It's pretty safe to say that
if a band has been around for 15 years or more... they certainly aren't new!

Didn't we already discuss this topic like a month ago?
The guy who originally posted the message was just joking
around. But, yeah...I agree with the guy that said the tribute
album would be comedic. I think it would be hilarious, but,
in a way, demeaning as well. And if this trubute album isn't
just a joke, then I'm definatley not buying the CD. Total waste
of money.
