Hi All
Duran Duran kicked off the North American Leg of the tour last night at GM
Place. While I was disappointed with the small crowd and the small space
they took up at GM Place, I was still wowed by the band. I had gone
expecting to see the same type of show I had read they had done at teh
Barrymore and was so shocked when after the 1st three songs from "RCM" that
they launched into "Hungry" for the 4th song and kept up a good mix of the
new and old. It was the 3rd time I've seen them and I've got to say it was
amazing. I loved, loved the techno set. Couldn't believe it that they did
"Last Chance On the Stairway," to start the techno set. It's been my
favourite song since I was about 13. There were some cute moments as well.
Simon planting a kiss on John's cheek near the end and also at one point
Simon seemed to be having a wardrobe malfunction in his pants and had to
readjust his underwear.
The reviews of the show in the local papers were positive as well which was
a welcome surprise.
