That is precisely their problem. In the 80s they were at the 'leading
edge' of modern music. They _didn't_ pay attention to the trends and as
a result came up with some of the best and influential music of the
time. Now that they are 'paying attention to the trends' they are just
antother of the multitiude of mainstream bands and their music reflects
just that - it is not nearly as good as their material of the 80s.

I'f I'm going to be labeled as a 'retro-manic throwback' so be it... some
of the greatest music is from that period... IMHO of course. Although
there is still some _very_ good music being made today.

Personally I think that their 90s material is just as strong and sometime more consistant. IMO
