Martin's Counterfiet is an E.P and contains six tracks. The songs are pretty
moody( all cover versions, including one tradiontal track "Motherless Child").
Out of all of DM's albums I'd say this E.P. is more reminiscent of the Black
Celebration than any other.
Recoil was Alan Wilder's solo project and released two albums( I think), I did
have one (Which was either called "Recoil" or "Bloodline", I forget which). As
you gather Recoil's album is less memorable than M.L's. Recoil's sound was
closer to techno than anything D.M ever did, and featured guest vocalists such
as Moby.
I'd definately recommend "Counterfiet", but am not too sure about recoil
unless you like heavy electronic techo.
Hope this cleared things up
Recoil is supposed to release a new album "coming soon" according to the
Mute website. Most of what I've heard pegs it around late summer/early
fall.
Also, Martin had begun work on another solo project, which he tabled after
Dave finally got it together and work on ULTRA began in earnest. There's
also talk he is further postponing his solo LP to work on a second
"Greatest Hits" album, which may or may not offer new tracks...
Enjoy the rumours...

I have teh Counterfeit CD - (E.P). It has 6 tracks and personally i reckon
it's well good. There's a brilliant cover of Sparks 'Never Turn Your Back
on Mother Earth' and some very catchy (very electro) tracks to go with it
('Motherless Child' being among the best).
Recoil was formed by Alan Wilder (if i remember correctly) around the same
time but the music was disappointing - i've probably still got it somewhere
- but the song-writing wasn't up to Martins standard in my book (even if
they were covers !)
Hope this helps.
