I gave both CD's a spin in the car again, and they are magnificant. Great
stuff. I think Holy Diver is as much a "classic" as Heaven & Hell or Rising
are.
Funny thing is that I bought this album in the days that album covers
influenced my buy's instead of taste. In those days I had no clue about who
Purple/ Blackmore/ Rainbow or Sabbath were.
I just rated Dio amongst those fine newcomers like Saxon, Scorpions & Iron
Maiden
;-)
Took me even longer to realise that he was the singer of that song and
cartoon I loved so much when I was a kid.........Love Is All.

Hehe - I remember how much I hated the bands that appeared around 79/80 -
Maiden, Def Leppard, Saxon...can't say my opinion of them has changed one
iota either.

I remember seeing it in 78 (or maybe late 77) and wondering who this
Dio-soundalike was, and not realising the connection for ages. I actually
saw the album in HMV in London (which used to have 7% of the country's total
record sales in the early 70's - imagine that!!) and bought it (like you)
for the cover and because I thought the cartoon was cool. Got outside, onto
the bus, and (as you do) took it out to have a look, and sat there
/extremely/ pleasantly surprised at the lineup. Never saw it in a record
shop after that day :-)

slumpy
no more
no less
just me
(cheap at twice the price...)
At that time when music seemed to be either Punk/New Wave or Disco, I
thought all those NWOBHM bands were going to save hard rock, and granted
Leppard and Maiden probably did, but to me they always seemed like poor
copies of Lizzy, UFO, Priest etc.
I bought the first few albums of each but oddly as they became more
successful I lost interest. I stuck to my old Purple/Rainbow, ELP, Sabbath
favourites and "discovered" other music genres instead.
Regards
Andrew
.
I hope they do! I don't have those albums on CD and I really need get them.
I got very disappointed with Dio after his third album, but the first two
are classics.

OMG Rob Halford !!
Now there's a man who can live his life comfortably with his head up his
ass.
I did the artwork for their 78 (?) tour programme and had the (un)pleasant
experience of meeting the asshole. The week after I met Jimmy Pursey to do
Sham 69's one and a nice guy you couldn't hope to meet. Shame he died so
young, he was a real geezer.

I heard and cringed at each as they were released and turned my back on the
lot for good.
What a joke Slappy is. Yeah Slappy you did the art work all right.
You and Tommy are so similar it's scary.
Bwaaahaaa!! Now that was a classic.
Next thing ya know slapnuts will be telling us he's married to a jamaican
cherokee comanche squaw, has riches beyond our imagination, owns houses all
over the UK and works for the government.
Oh wait!
I guess every country must have at least one of these type of people.

Just because you seem to have trouble distinguishing between truth and
false, don't tar us all with the same brush.
Check the tour, think they had an Irish band called Horslips as support, and
the prog had a black cover. Have a copy somewhere, but I wouldn't bother
searching for it to satisfy the ego of any of your Trollettes, so don't
bother suggesting it.
> Looks like Jerry-Boy's off the scene too, MO.
The same MO who couldn't work out how to change his username ?
Muwahahahahahahaha !!
Don't even bother, your Trollettes need re-educating.
Well that sure is proof of your lies Slappy.
That was not the problem Slappy. It is obvious I know how to change my
*username* otherwise I would not be a MO. The problem now is trying to
remember the password for the account.
Slumpy, how did the German SWAT teams get through her magesty's customs
department?

Magesty ?
What the fuck does that mean Doofus ?
Were you trying to be funny and failing at that too ?

Sorry art, was half asleep and thought it was a Scott-post.
Looking back it still resembles one too closely.;-)
Be careful, it may be habit-forming LOL
It sure became a habit of Slappys, no doubt about that.
Thought that may have been the case, but perhaps I broke some UK taboo
or something.
Didn't Scott have the German SWAT team visit you? You live in the UK.
Seems they would need some special clearance to get into the country or
is this one of those new European Union deals where German SWAT teams
can go where they please? God Save the Queen. The Queen is Dead.
I wish I knew. Trouble is all these things happened in Scott's fat head, and
as such he changes the story to suit whatever the situation.
I do believe that a military operation /would/ have ended up with me losing
my ISP account at least. Scott however, has a history of hunting for new
ISP's by necessity.
Killing the Dragon is also a great Dio cd.
Levee.
>> OMG Rob Halford !!
And did Horslips not do the support ?
Was it called Killing Machine ?
Fucking Hell, my memory is shit....
Great band. I still listen to Man Who Built America.
Italians are a very dirty people.
Why bother?
Obviously the gates at the waste treatment run-off swamp donšt keep u
locked in. But at least your smell gives u away easily.
I am sure that ANY of them could stomp your punk ass
