I hear songs on the radio and in clubs all the time and most of the time
they don't say the name of the song or who it is. Is there any sites out
there that has lists of the most popular dance tracks? I'm not looking for
backstreet boys crap. I'm looking for the good dance music that they play
in the clubs and on the radio late at night, you know, the good shit.
Thanks for the help

Go to a good independant record shop at the quieter times and you will find
the staff will help you find just about anything. Once they get to know you
and know that you will spend money there they will find all sorts of tracks
for you. One shop I used to go to every monday morning even had a pile of
new tunes ready for me each week coz it was the stuff thewy knew I would
like and most probably buy.
It takes time but get a rapport going and you'll get every track you want!!!

Depends on where you are, too, Wedge. Some towns have good indy stores that
deal with dance music. Others don't. You might have to travel...and there
should also be lots of outlets on the web for you to check out.

Best idea? Go up and talk to the dj's of the clubs you like to go to...not
when they're mixing, obviously...but when they've got a moment... Ask them
where they go shopping--if they don't tell you, they're jerks... :)
(spoken like the dance music buyer for an independent music retailer, eh?)

I know there is a good domestic and import electronic store nearby called
mondo music. I'm very close to NY city so there's alot of stores around.
It's impossible to talk to the DJs at the big clubs in the city, but the
smaller clubs in Jersey play some good stuff too and I've already asked them
about a couple songs and they are cool. I wish I could ask Junior Vasquez
or Johnny Viscious if I could see their playlists, ahahhaah. Thanks again.
