Hi all DanFans-

This newsgroup was just added to my news server, so I don't know how long
it's been around. Great to see it though!

I was wondering if anyone has any concert tapes from any of Dan's solo
acoustic tours, past or present? Wanna trade?

The only Dan tape I have is from the King Biscuit Flower Hour, June '76 FM
stereo broadcast taken from an L.A. concert. (Yes, I recorded it off the
radio 22 years ago and yes, I *know* I'm aging, thank you very much! ;-)

The songs (about 40 mins. altogether):
Morning Sky (3:25)
Old Tennessee (3:35)
"the most chauvinistic song I've ever written" (2:15) *
Captured Angel (3:00)
Long Way Home (5:20)
Part Of The Plan (3:20)
As The Raven Flies (10:57)
There's A Place In The World For A Gambler (7:35)

* This is how Dan describes this unreleased ballad with a punchline. You'd
have to hear it to believe it!!

Dan is backed throughout by the band Fool's Gold, and is joined by Joe
Walsh on guitar for the last 3 numbers. Don Henley & Don Felder also join
him on the last one. The broadcast also included 2 Fool's Gold songs at
the beginning that don't feature Dan (about 10 minutes worth).

I know that King Biscuit has recently been releasing CDs of shows from
their archives, but I haven't seen mention of this one being considered.
(But I wish!) Their sound quality standards always seemed pretty high, and
this broadcast was no exception!

Please email-reply with questions, possible trades, etc.

If you *really* NEED a copy of this and don't have anything to trade, it's
quite possible I wouldn't turn down a request! DanFans are always cool in
my book! :-)

Mark,
I remember hearing that concert on the radio in my folks' kitchen but
unfortunately wasn't into Dan at the time! Started listening to him in '80.
Stumbled upon Netherlands and listening ever since. Boy would I love a
copy!....let's see, trade? I would be more than willing to send you my own
cassette of stuff(6 songs) I've done in my home studio. My main thing is
Christian rock, pop, etc., (influenced of course by Fogelberg, among others)
.....or payment, perhaps?Whatever! Thanks for sharing it with us!

Well, trades are preferable but if someone doesn't have anything to trade,
they can have a free copy anyway. Please, NO payments accepted! :-)

I am desperately trying to find a copy or one to download. I have some very early Dan from 1971 and 2 as well as a few Coachmen tracks. I'd be happy to trade. Scott. Blitz...@yahoo.com
