Have the Counting Crows fan base dwindled down to nothing or is everyone just posting messages elsewhere?

I think it's perhaps more due to the Usenet user base dwindling,
though I'm pretty sure it's a combination of both.

Well, then just the few of us can have a discussion then... :) So
there are a total of 7 of the (supposedly) 14 tracks that we'll get on
the new album available to listen to in some form now.

4. When I Dream of Michaelangelo (up on the official site)
5. Washington Square (YouTube)

7. Hanging Tree (YouTube)

Of that list I like 1492 and Hanging Tree prob the most so far... and
no one has heard the first single yet as it hasn't been performed
live, a song called "You Can't Count On Me". I think Adam has been
around long enough to know what will and won't work as a radio single
so that has me very curious. What's cool about those seven songs is
that I'm hearing a balanced mix of Counting Crows past style changes.
When I Dream of Michaelangelo is simple and reminds me a lot of their
first album, 1492 and Cowboys sound like it could have easily been
pulled off Recovering the Satellites (thank you Gil Norton :) and
Hanging Tree (just judging from the live version) sounds like
something belonging to the This Desert Life era.

Nothing so far reminds me of Hard Candy, but that's probably a good
thing as I think the bands shines best without the polish and catchy
hooks.
