It has just been checked over by a local music shop: no problems, no cracks,
or was it ever repaired; corks and pads are in great shape; all the keys all
move freely through the full range. No wear on the keys. According to the
shop, "It is in great shape". Includes original Buffet plush-lined hard case
in great condition. Original Buffet barrel, mouthpiece, cap, and ligature
too.
Can someone please help me identify the model and what it might be worth if
I were to sell it? Thanks so much.
Jeff
Check http://www.sneezy.org/clarinet/Equipment/HowOld for the year of
manufacture. If it was manufactured after 1955 and the upper joint has no
special engraving (other than the Buffet logo) it is an R-13. Other models
will have a plate or a model number with additional information.
The street value varies; however, clarinets in good to excellent shape from
around that time bring on average $800-$1200. A new R-13's street price is
about $1800.00 .
