That's why I dumped thos ass-holes over there! AO-HELL was a total
rip-off before and now it's only worse. Get out of there as soon as
possible!!! Get a real internet provider and see your wait times go
way down.

My service with CampusMCI went from decent to terrible. I would try to get on for hours and had the pleasure of hearing a busy signal
when I tried to connect. It was getting to the point where I had a better chance of hitting the lottery than getting on-line and was
spending more time on hold with their phone operators listening to really bad music than dancing about the internet. I switched to
Mindspring and all is well so far.
As a technical support analyst for an ISP (Internet Service Provider), I
constantly hear complaints about AOL, from no local access numbers, to
long waits for tech support, to shoddy performance (both in getting on
in the first place, and also once you are on).
But since the first of December, it has gotten worse.
However, there is a possible remedy. You can migrate from AOL, an OSP
(On-line Service provider), to an ISP. But you can keep your AOL stuff,
too. AOL allows you to connect to them via TCP/IP (standard connection
through an ISP) for just $9.95/month. Get a PPP from a local ISP (don't
pay more than about $20/mo), and then, once connected, launch AOL.
I don't have info on the particulars, but it is available.
Of course, this is just one option. And as always, YMMV.
Best,
Chris
Right Said Dax: "I'm too sexy for my host!"
I had to battle the CampusMCI mail server to get and send my mail, not
to mention the time on hold and the advice their "experts" gave me.
Absoultely the WORST internet provide. I'll be switching this week :-)
