Dion decides Halifax venue inappropriate

Quebec-born diva Celine Dion has backed out of a commitment to preform
in Halifax this summer. The concert's promoter, Gillett Entertainment
Group, says the singer will not preform at the Halifax Common on Aug.
23 because the venue is "not appropriate". The Quebec-based company
says Dion's "elaborate production needs" can't be met at the downtown
site. Halifaz regional council had agreed to provide up to $150,00 to
bring Dion to the port.
