1. George Michael hates Sony music, remember his law suit 4 years back?
There would be much bitterness between George and Sony.
2. What label would it be released on?? Sony will want to release it,
George will want it probably to be relased on Virgin (his new label), it
all boils down to politics!!!
In final, I can see no way they could reach a comprimise, after all Sony
are notorious for screwing their arists about, keeping them on a short
lead, I can't see Sony wanting to do this AT ALL!!
Please post your own comments on this topic!! I look forward to reading
them! : )
Bye : )

Aidan, if your sources are the same as mine. Montreal La Presse's
newspaper, then we have a problem. A duet with George was never
mentionned. What was mentionned was 'working with Céline' . That probably
means writing songs and/or producing. And if he accepts, you may be sure
that a duet would be in the works.
It was stated in the interview that Michael was interested. And if you
know René enough, there is no way he would mention this in an interwiew if
there was the slightest chance of a refusal from George's part.
I think that George Michael is intelligent enough to know that : Céline +
George Michael = A great combination that could result in Céline's english
masterpiece outselling Falling into you. I do beleive that George stills
owes Sony a greatest hits package. Perhaps there is room for negociation.
Anyway, I hope I am right, because Céline needs an author for her next
english project. And some new ideas that I think George Michael could
bring her.
As much as I like Falling into you, some of the songs and production leaves
a lot to be desired. Although, it does contains some masterpieces. Too
many producers!
They should trust Céline's talent a little more. Even her detractors says
so. Jim Steinman certainly brought Céline to a new level. The same way
with Jean-Jacques Goldman for 'D'eux'. Goldman agreed to do the next
french one, thank god. Now there is the matter of the english one. Her
most important, after the grammy's win.
She has a lot to prove, and we can can expect great things. I just hope
that Sony doesn't screw this!
What do you think?
Actually George Michael does not hate Sony artists. he only hates the
people who were directly involved in restricting him artistically. George
Michael has invited Mariah Carey to party's. And Mariah is Tommy
Mottola's (COO of Sony) wife! He had also expressed that he does not hold
anything personally against the current Sony Executive team in the USA.
Most of his problems were with Sony UK and Sony International!
Celine and George would make an awesome duet and I certainly think that
its viable and probable.
He is extremely happy with his deal at Dreamworks and hold no grudges.
Take care, Sheila
Hmmmmm....could a Barbra/Celine duet be far behind?
:+)

Am I hearing this right? Just because you THINK that GM is gay, Celine
and he shouldn't be doing a duet. FYI, there are many talented gay and
lesbian singers out there. Gosh, which planet are you coming from? You
sound just like a fucking bigot, bitch. You give Celine fans a bad
name. Go to hell!

I agree with Sheila, it is hard to believe that someone still thinks like
that in 1997.
Who cares if George Michael is gay! And to think think that this would be
bad for Céline's carreer is amazingly... stunning! Céline is pretty much
aware that the gay crowd was one of the first crowd to recognize her talent
when she started to sing in english. Unison was huge in gay bars. She was
rumored to be a lesbian herself for years, for all the obvious reasons, no
boyfriend, she's gay! Anyway, I think you should apologize to Céline's
fans in this ng. We know better. Half of the artistic colony is gay...

Sorry George, but your sexy videos don't fool me for a moment.>
Well, I gotta admit, I'm not too familiar with George Michael, but you
made me very mad with your "symptoms", as if being homosexual is some kind
of disease. I'm not gay myself, but I have no problem accepting it. It
is simply a sexuality.
Celine has no problem with it either, so I don't see why you should. And
how do I know that? Well, I have no doubt that her hairdresser, and her
backup vocalist Terry Bradford are both gay. It's just in the way they
act, what you probably consider the "symptoms".

Who Cares if George Michael is gay!
Symptoms?? I did not know being gay meant having symptoms!
Daniel
Keep Smiling!

Rona,
Interesting because these two are hairdressers and backup singers and
act a certain way you have no doubt they are gay? Isn't that as
stereotypical as what you are railing about? C'mon. What does it
matter. I'm a straight male who's public person is quite effeminate.
Get a clue, acting is not really an indicator. I have met gay males who
acted more straight than I do!!!

Golly, gee, no disrespect was intended to anyone, let alone… "The Canadian
Celine Dion Authority". But, truthfully, I’m hoping there are other
Canadians (and knowledgeable Celine fans)…that will be inspired to post to
this newsgroup.
Best wishes to all Celine fans,
Janis
