Beatles Drummer Ringo Star on Cat's album session?

Hi outthere!
in his book "postcards from the boys" Beatles Drummer Ringo Star
states, that he played along with Cat Stevens in some studio recording
session during the late 70/ies and complains, that he was cutted out
of those tapes. We know, that booze was one of Ringo's best friend
those days. Is the Cat Stevens statement reliable or is Ringo
confunding the coutless sessions he plazed at?
Any hints appreciated
