Ahem...I think that should be "Vancouver Island Singer/Songwriter ... Mae Moore",
shouldn't it? Far as I know, she lives in Victoria...
If she was once a PEI girl, I think it's important to let you know, on behalf of all
west-coasters, that we're not giving her back. ;) (A trade might be worked out, but it
would involve getting the Barra MacNeils, the Rankin Family, Great Big Sea -- refered to
locally as "Spirit of the East" -- and Natalie McMasters...Mae will not come cheap.)
Seriously, sounds like a great concert. Wish I could be there...
Chris S. Mathieson. (the second to last of Barrett's Privateers...) :)

Sorry to break the news to the west coast, but Mae Moore in fact moved to
PEI around a year ago and is opening up a B&B or an inn with her partner,
so I guess she does qualify as a PEI performer - however you guys got
Sarah MacLachlan, Susan Crowe, and Holly Cole ( or was that Toronto?) so
you know the old exchange goes on - as to the show itself it is going to
be stupendous - I am leaving PEI right after the Colin James concert at
the Blues & Jazz Festival to catch a 6 am ferry to eastern Nova Scotia
just to be able to take in the Sunday portion of the show - they have 4
stages going simultaneously during the day featuring everything from
workshops to themed songwriting shows to a family/children's show
featuring PEI's Teresa Doyle, Winnipeg's Scruj MacDuhk, Cape Breton's
Kidd Brothers and Winnipeg percussionist and impresario Gord Oslund with
BC's Valdy doing a whap zonk buzz percussion show.
The Sunday Night finale concert opens with Kidd Brothers, followed by
Tanglefoot; Curly Boy Stubbs & Bill Garrett; John Gorka; the L-7"s; David
Essig; Blackie and the Rodeo Kings; Quartette; and James Keelaghan. So
even though I'm an old geezeer, I'm going to pull an all-nighter to get
to this one even for just the final day.

Would you take Ashley MacIsaac?
Until recently, we probably would have considered hum damaged goods. :) But he seems to
be getting things back together (no more recent shock-comments). It'd be fair, I
suppose..
(You have to pay postage, though. I can't afford a COD right now). ;)
Chris.
