About three years ago, they played the Gloucester Fair and debuted some
new songs. Ben Dunk said they were working on their new album, to be
released soon after.
So they've obviously broken up. Because three years is a long time to
record a mostly-written pop album. Which is too bad. Because I like them.

How are they going to get any attention with a different name?

but they might as well have built on whoever did know them - I mean, I
consider myself a fan of their first album, but how am I ever going to
find them if they aren't named Starkicker?
They used to have a great website at starkicker.com. That no longer
exists, apparently. Unknown host.

Nobody liked them that much.

This isn't the first time they've changed their name. It might be some
clever but obscure marketing strategy.
(Their first album, which is mostly Beach Music +/- a few tracks, was
released under the name blue.bottle.fly)

This will probably make me sound like a groupie, but what the heck.
I'm from St. Catharines, which is where the band is from. Their
original name was blue.bottle.fly, but they changed it to avoid
confusion between them and an Australian band called Blue Bottle Kiss.
They have once again changed the name of the band, for what reason I
dunno. The new name is Dunk (most likely since two of the guys in the
band share the name). You can find em at www.dunkonline.com.
