I am very saddened to announce the tragic death of Ken Jensen, D.O.A.'s
current drummer, in a house fire.
Ken died at approximately 12:30 on superbowl sunday afternoon, January 29,
1995.

Ken was 27 years old.

There had been a party at the house that night. The fire department said that
it had been a cigarette butt that fell into the lining of a couch that created
the blaze.

There were no fire alarms in the house.

Ken died trying to escape. His body was found at the bottom of the stairs.
Craig Bougie, the soundman for both NoMeansNo and D.O.A., escaped by leaping
from the roof just seconds before the blaze consumed the house, and Ken.
Craig attempted repeatedly to save Ken before the fire denied his attempts.

All of DOA's equipment, plus rented recording gear, was destroyed in the
blaze. Although worth a large amount of money, it was a very tiny loss
compared to the devestating loss of a true friend, Ken Jensen.

Ken formerly played with several Victoria bands, Red Tide and the Bedspins.
In 1990 and 1991 he toured with NoMeansNo as tour merchandiser, and a lifelong
dream was realized in 1991 when he successfully auditioned for DOA. He
appeared on two DOA albums, both produced by NoMeansNo' John Wright - 13
Flavors of Doom and Loggerheads. His song "Overtime" is on the Hanson
Brothers album Punk Rock Classics Vol 1.

He was a truly wonderful human being, and we are all deeply saddened at the
loss of a wonderful human being and a true friend.
