CD Release & New Music Video Filmed in St. John’s, Torbay & Southern Shore Area

Westman who recently moved to St. John’s Newfoundland from Vancouver.
This past winter Cody teamed up with award winning St. John’s
filmmaker Christian Sparkes and producers Matt Tucker and Allison
White to shoot an ambitious short film style music video for the first
song on the album titled “I Had a Lover”. The music video can now be

The CD release party and the first public screening of the music video
will take place at The Ship Inn Pub (265 Duckworth St) on Saturday,
May 29 at 11 pm with local band, The Pathological Lovers playing after
Cody Westman. Tickets are $10 at the door, $20 with the CD.
Cody Westman will be performing on Out of the Fog on Wednesday, May 26
at 7:00 pm NST (Rogers Cable, Channel 9). The video for ‘I Had A
Lover’ will be broadcast across Newfoundland for the first time during
the show, followed by one acoustic song by Cody Westman and his
current band mate Paul Brace.
ABOUT CODY:
Cody Westman is an acoustic rock musician with a unique voice and
dynamic guitar driven songs. Cody has played 500 shows in the past 5
years, including a solo tour of Western Europe, and opening slots for
Leon Russell (Joe Cocker, Rolling Stones, Steven Page and Blue Rodeo.

ABOUT THE MUSIC VIDEO:
Filmed in December of 2009 the “I Had a Lover” music video was shot to
be both a music video and a 10 minute short film titled ‘Black
Clouds’.
The video is a love story about a vagabond couple that delivers a dead
body (Cody Westman) to an unknown location. The short film ‘Black
Clouds’ is an extension of this story.

The short film ‘Black Clouds’ is currently in the submission process
to film festivals worldwide. The film will screen locally in June of
this year at the Nickel Film Festival in St. John’s, and will be
available for viewing online shortly thereafter.
