When I was living in the Okanagan Valley in Southern B.C. in the mid-80's,
Lawrence was a big-time producer in Vancouver, producing west coast acts
like Shari Ulrich. He did a gig with Valdy somewhere in the Valley at the
time I was living there (playing sax, as I recall). He also played (keys &
sax?) with the Hometown Band (with Ulrich and Valdy) at one time and was (I
*think*) a founding member of Chilliwack. His brother Bill used to own a
music store in Penticton so Claire had a pretty high profile in the Valley.
Don't know what he's doing now, though.

I don't think Claire Lawrence was ever a member of Doctor Music (they
were a Toronto group - One More Mountain to Climb was their big hit, I
think they also did Sun Goes By).
Claire was a West Coast kid - founding member of the Collectors, which
became Chilliwack, he used to play with a buddy of mine named Tom
Northcott, and The Collectors recorded for Tom's label, New Syndrome
Records. If my memory is right, he was also a member of The Classics,
who were the house band on the Vancouver segment of the old CBC
afternoon music show (Music Hop??? Was that really 30 years ago???)
