"You Showed Me" was the title of the song that Gene Clark and I wrote.
The Turtles took it to number 6 on the Billboard charts. BMI has given
us an award for over 1,000,000 plays on radio and television.
Other than that, the Byrds and Turtles have never worked together.

But Mark and Howard did sing on your 'Peace On You' album.
Correct?...Tom
Did anybody catch the Stills-Young tour with Volman and Kaylan singing in place
of
Crosby/Nash? ....Chuck

There were some other members - Jim Pons <bass> (played later with
Zappa) for one. Let's not get into the "some members of the band were
more important than others" thing again, eh?
OLGA LIVES!

They also were the Crossfires before they were the Turtles. Rhino put out an
album of them a long time ago, but I never saw one and it sold very poorly
so I don't expect to see it reissued any time soon.
From what I remember the Turtles perform on their album Battle of the
Bands as the Crossfires.

I do believe that hadn't got the rights to the "Turtles" name at that time-
which they did get back later. I noticed they thanked Roger on their "Ilegal,
Immoral & Fattening" released the year after "Peace On You". Btw the
Crossfires is pretty much surf music except for a couple of 'novelty' things
that foreshadow the humor that would froth from Flo & Eddie later. Chuck

And Flo and Eddy were great when I saw them with Zappa. Would you go all the way for
the USA. Two Dog Night. Super show. I think George Duke was in that band too. What
a show! What guitar work. What sarcasm! :-)
And the drummer who replaced John Barbata
in the Turtles was John Seiter, who I would imagine
is (ex-Byrds road manager - see Byrdmaniax gatefold)
Jimi Seiter's brother...Tom
i didn't say he was.....
