Usenet is dying out for a variety of reasons.
from lawsuits against ISPs that allow usenet groups that run
copyrighted materials,
to ISPs not getting any advertising money - so why bother?

the Byrds yahoo group is still very talkative, but Yahoo is a money
making
business, so they push to make sure folks can follow the groups.
