Gavin is a real loser and I think Dave's right. I read a quote from Gavin (It was in
BIG BLOCK LETTERS LIKE THESE) in CIRCUS mag..It read "...I HOPE THAT THERE'S AN ELEMENT
OF NIRVANA IN BUSH BECAUSE I WAS ALWAYS A FAN OF KURT COBAIN AND NIRVANA..." Dave
Grohl's comments have some fact even though he may not know it.
I AGGRE!

Whats the big deal? Okay, its obvious that Bush sound like Nirvana, but so do many
bands. All music is just recreation and synthesis of past music, Nirvana wasn't totally
original, infact anything but. I agree that Bush probably benefit from sounding like
Nirvana, but if Dave wore that teeshirt for the reason to poke fun at Bush, he is
unwittingly poking fun at himself. How many kids out there began listening to the Foo
Fighters because of Daves old band, I know went I went and saw them play, there were
Nirvana t-shirts as far as the eye could see. He can try to remove himself from the tag of
'the drummer from Nirvana', but there will always be those who only become aware of
the Foo's because of Nirvana....you know when you're talking to someone who is oblivious
to the Foo fighters, you need to say 'You know the band with the guy from Nirvana!' and
they say 'oh cool' - (or something like that)...
(By the way, I only found out that the Foo Fighters was actually Dave Grohls band after I
looked at the photo on the inside after listening to them buying the album. Even then I
didn't click where he was from. I didn't even get into Nirvana heavily until after I got the
Foo debut!)
Its a shame but its the truth. Dave is a great artist, and if anyone has the right to ride the
shirttails of Nirvana it is him (and Krist - But God, NOT Courtney and HOLE!)...But like I
said at the start of this post, all music is just recreation and new organisations of the
fundemental music components (the 12 notes of western music, the instrument
arrangements etc..)....
-This is great, it should finally stir some real debate for this issue, and wake up this
newsgroup (alt.foo)....I'm so sick of fockin xxx site passwords and psyhco readings... how
can we get rid of those space wasting cunks? (can you tell I'm pissed?)

What's with the ticket prices?
I saw Foo for $9.
I saw Bush last month for $15.
I saw Silverchair before at $15.
I saw Weird Al last year at $15.
Is it the band, or is it the area?
I live in Wisconsin, and I've only seen tickets over 15 for events like HORDE (19) and
Ozzfest (24).
So, what is up?

A couple of things:
1)In a way, sgt. peppers is right, but hes going about it in the wrong
way.
2)Who cares if they sold 13 million records, anyone can do that know.
What people care about is that you can stay around, and continue to sell
records and still have fans, real fans, after 4 or 5 albums.
3)ANyway you look at it, Dave was the second most important member of
nirvana. I would value kurts opinion more, but, dave was apart of all
that, he helped create nirvana's sound, well after he joined the band
atleast, so hes opinion, in my mind, is very valuable, cause hes been
touring and music has been his live since he was like 17, 18 years old,
when he joined scream. so, someone who has contributed so much to
modern music should have his opinion taken seriously.
4)K-ROCK, christ. The radio is just as bad as eMpTyV, except they do
play songs by unheard of bands, except for the fact these "unheard of"
bands, are huge away from teh mainstream, ie Sublime.
5)I agree with you, I saw bush with girls who like their music, not just
gavin. Yet, I know another girl who likes their music, yet I never hear
say anything about dave nigel or robyn. I told here one day that Gavin
was my fifth favorite member of teh band:
Dave, Nigel, Robyn, Winston, Gavin
and she told me to stop, you know how girls do shit like that,
"Ssstoppp"
gracias for listening to my rambling
About "sell-outs", what kind of idiot would get in a band with the hope
of failing? Last time I checked, living comfortably was a good thing
compared to barely making rent.
Well, I'm not here to insult you, so I'll end on a few minor points:
1) I'm the farthest thing from a "teenybopper" you'll ever find.
2) If you know where to go, those 30 dollars put you in a much better
situation than the nosebleed section.
3) Besides, do you expect to pay any less at places like Madison Square
Garden, where, even in the pit, you'll come out of the show in one piece?
