Musicaner, and Evan, so I thought I'd try an album from emusic. It's the one
called "Summer Sun". They have sort of a mellow, moody vibe all throughout
the record. I kinda liked it, but was very surprised at their relatively
quiet sound.
My question: Is this a typical album of theirs? Or was this something very
different from their normal sound?
I believe I downloaded a show of theirs a while back that Musicaner upped to
Dime, but haven't had the chance to listen yet.

they GO BACK and FORTH between THE VELVET UNDERGROUND vibe and the
SUNSHINE POP thing. dont have the latest one but the one before that
is exc. and their live set of shows in NJ durin years end are classic.
they had a GREATEST HITS thing a few years ago that was a good
overview. best is to get the SDBS from the year end shows
that are usually uploaded.

KISS they aint. thats for sure. or LED ZEPPELIN for that matter.
but one of the last GREAT GROUPS. they dont have that MARKETIN thing
goin with the TRAINWHISTLES and havin a younger SET in the front. and
they sing good, not havin to do 3 hr shows as a rule.
im listenin to some of the wall stuff, nothin to profound or SALES
CHATTERIN(sp) mostly good material like
JOHN STEWART BOMBS AWAY DREAM BABIES a great great record. every song
is killer, had some hits on it
but has been forgotte
CHARTERHOUSE WHIRLPOOL another forgotten classic. almost shoegazin
but not quite.
BECK MGMT and DEVENDRA BANHART do the FIRST LEONARC COHEN record. if
you leave the rap number out, its actually very nice, sounds like the
BASEMENT TAPES>
CAPTAIN BEEFHEART the SPOTLIGHT KID and CLEAR SPOT 2 CLASSIC ALBUM on
one cd by one of the TRUE GENIUS of music.
SIR DOUGLAS QUINTED MENDOCINO nothin has to be said about this.

Thanks guys. Maybe I should start with the Greatest Hits one, to see if I
should further indulge. Emusic seems to have their whole catalog, or close.
And I will try a live show too.

Paul Simon Songbook - early S & G songs recorded solo by Simon back before

Mr Musicaner, I was reading those October 1970 issues of Rolling Stone, and
somebody mentioned how great Sir Doug's "1+1+1= 4" album is. Also noticed
that they were selling it for 50 cents with a subscription!
What say ye, is this a good one to get?

however some of those old records
were messed with when PUT on CD. they have weird echoes and all kinda
strange stuff.
