Playlist Bon Jovi
With the release of the new Bon Jovi track Real Life (from the EdTV
soundtrack) just a few weeks away, we all really need to step up our
campaigning, to make sure the song gets the airplay it deserves!! So
far, the song hasn't had much airplay outside of N. America, but if
you're a member of the European fanclub BJF you might have heard the
song on their hotline. The latest news on the European release dates is
as follows:
Austria:
Was aired on "OE3 Wecker" (radio) on 23 February.
Germany:
Single release: 15 March.
Netherlands:
Real Life will be aired on "Radio 3" (radio) from the week beginning
March 1st...starting with Edwin Evers' 6-9am show, and then playing
throughout the day.
Norway, Holland & Finland:
Radio release: 24 February.
Single release: 15 March.
Soundtrack release: 22 March.
Ireland:
Single Release: 22 March.
Soundtrack Release: 29 March.
UK:
Radio release: 1 March.
Single Release: 22 March.
Soundtrack Release: 29 March.
So far, we've heard from Cool FM (N. Ireland) who say that they'll
playlist Real Life "As soon as the record company mail it to us
probably!" which is great news, now we need YOUR help to persuade all
the other stations to do the same. Listen to your local stations (as
well as the national ones) and find out which ones play the chart stuff
and keep asking them when they'll add Real Life to their
playlist...check out our website for contact info for various stations,
and don't forget that if you know of a station that we haven't got
listed, then we'd love to hear about it so we can petition them too.

On a slightly different note, some of you may have noticed Pat's
campaign to try and get a Backstage Bash in Europe on our website. Pat's
been keeping us updated, and she's getting ready to wrap up her petition
and send the list of signatures to Backstage and BJM. She's looking to
send the petition in a few weeks (an exact date will be announced on the
website and mailing lists soon), so if you haven't added your name to
her petition yet, please check out our website for more details about

We're not just after airplay for Bon Jovi's songs here at PBJ by the
way, although of course that is our main aim. For example, those of you
in the UK who watch ITV's Peak Practice may have caught a glimpse or two
of a Bon Jovi poster in the show a couple of weeks ago, and the BBC's
Eastenders has used Bon Jovi posters several times now, as well as other
programmes too. Exposure like that is also great for the band, and is
something else we're trying to encourage. It's not just radio & music
stations you can mail, but also the non-music TV stations to ask for Bon
Jovi posters to be used in dramas/soaps...and wouldn't it be great to
see someone wearing a Bon Jovi t-shirt in a TV soap or drama? Keep your
eyes out for Bon Jovi items used as props on TV, and let us know if you
see any, as we'd like to let the programme-makers know we appreciate
that kind of exposure for Bon Jovi!
