As long as I'm here, I figured I'd mention one of my new favorite groups, the Sons of Bill. Found them when they were opening on a Midwestern leg of a tour by Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers a few years back, and since then I've fallen hard.
The nucleus of the band is three brothers (Sam, James and Abe Wilson), rounded out by longtime friends Seth Green (bass) and Todd Wellons (drums)
They share some similarities with vintage BoDeans -- strong songwriting and close harmonies (three-part, since the brothers all swap out lead and backing vocal duties). They began with a very strong Southern, rural identity (though they are sons of a UVa philosophy/religion professor) and have branched out over the years to less specific geography.
Kind of like Springsteen, in a way (and in fact, if you're lucky, you'll catch them doing his "No Surrender" live.
I really recommend their Love & Logic album, but also have to recommend these performances via youtube:
Lost in the Cosmos (Song for Chris Bell), written for Big Star's Chris Bell "because Alex Chilton was getting all the love":

Santa Ana Winds. This is the one that grabbed me and never let go:

You probably won't make out all the lyrics here, because the crowd took 'em, but you can hear on the official video if you're so inclined.
George thanked me for recommending them; betting you'll do the same!
