This Wednesday, Sept. 11, 9--11:30 p.m., at Folk Night at The Ship Pub in
St. John’s, Newfoundland, the headliners are Crooked Stovepipe.

There is an open mic set between the two headline sets and open mic
performers get a free Quidi Vidi beer. Also there are door prizes, which are
usually $10 gift certificates donated by sponsors. Also the kitchen is open
until 8 p.m. (but may take the last order at 7:45 p.m.). Cover is only $5.

Here is the blurb from the Facebook event page, which is
https://www.facebook.com/events/444771419452255/

“After 46 years, St. John’s-based Crooked Stovepipe continues its run as
the oldest bluegrass band in Canada. Over the years founding members Neil
Rosenberg and Ted Rowe have taken the band through five CDs plus a
children’s recording with Colleen Power. Their CD "Just In Case" was voted
Bluegrass Recording of the Year by the ECMA, and MusicNL named Colleen Female
Vocalist of the Year for her collaboration with the band.

Ted’s son Dave Rowe, Matt Hender and Carole Bestvater round out the current
band, which has just released its latest CD `Hand- Picked: Bluegrass Music
from Newfoundland'.”

Upcoming:
Sept. 18 -- Nanaimo. BC singer/songwriter John Gogo
Sept. 25 -- Muses and Musings: Story & Song
