Pronunciation of Björk Guðmundsdóttir...

So, the name of our favourite artist is
Björk Guðmundsdóttir - pronounced how? 'be-york' 'gooth-munds-DOT-tir'

and her son is
Sindri Bjorkson - pronounced how? Sin-dree 'be-york-SON'

Sorry for my ignorance but I'm very interested to know.
I had an offer from a friend to work in Iceland, due to the massive commitment
to Internet technologies, but if I take it I sure need guidance on
pronunciation and where better to start :-)

Sindri Þórson (not "Bjorkson"...the child is named after the FATHER) =
"SIN-dree OR-son" (the Þ is a silent "th")

Did know the child was named after the father but kinda mixed UK culture, was
thinking of her as a single mother so wasn't sure how it worked. Dammit, sorry
no disrespect meant at all, was trying to be more repectfull to her. Apologies
again.

Sometimes the patronymic will indeed reference the mother. I came across
this in a couple of sagas, and Icelanders confirmed that it happens these
days also.
