FYI - the front runner so far is Shane McGowan/Maire Brennan - You're The
One

Don't get me wrong, I love Possibly Maybe, but at a wedding? Huh? Have you
heard the lyrics? They're not exactly an assurance of continued devotion
and commitment - in fact most of the song is quite the opposite. I see it
as a breakup song where she is thinking maybe one more chance. And I really
wouldn't know how to dance to it on a dance floor.
The only Bjork I would suggest is, once again, You Only Live Twice, because
I think it is her most beautiful song. But here too, it doesn't really
express eternal love for someone but rather how beautiful the experience of
being in love can be.
I know someone who's wedding song was Sheryl Crow's "I Shall Believe" which
may sound lame but it's really quite a romantic song if you've heard it.
There is a lot about getting through hard times that maybe you don't want to
think about on your wedding day but who really listens to the lyrics that
closely anyway? - it's a good song.
If you're asking a Bjork newsgroup because you're looking for something
completely non-traditional, how 'bout a little un-slow-dance-able trip-hop
with Portishead's "Only You".
Or on the more traditional route are some favorites like U2's "With Or
Without You" or "All I Want Is You".
Probably none of these helped at all, but I'd like to know what you decided
in the end, keep us posted!

Bjork - I Remember You
(not overpowering, simple enough for a wedding)
Mono - Slimcea Girl
(complete with the bells, piano.. mellow trip-hop group- better than
Portishead - I think
very Burt Baccarach lovey sound)
Smashing Pumpkins - Stand Inside Your Love
Radiohead - Let Down (not depressing as the title suggests!)
I'd go for something from Bjork's Gling-Glo or The Corrs myself, but are
probably too untraditional for most.
I'm too untraditional to pick something really good for decent folk though.

Yeah, I've heard it...that's why I also said that I didn't know of a Björk
song appropriate for a wedding. I only brought that one up because it was
the only one I could think of that talked about love. Actually, now that I
think about it a little more...I just thought of something!..."It's oh so
quiet" would be cute!

Again, great song, but dang near impossible to dance to. From the quiet
waltzing whispers to the screaming swing and the stops in between, the
newlyweds would have to be some awesome dancers that would like to do a
little routine and show off. Hard to imagine for a wedding dance.
Dom
good luck and i wish you a happy life with your partner!
