I was just wondering...at the start of "Famous Last Words" BJ starts
off with "Sitting here in Avalon..." Is this a reference to the
mythical land where King Arthur ended up or the town on the Jersey Shore?

I think there's an Avalon in Jersey. The lyrics seem to back up the
Avalon at the shore with the "closing down for the season" etc.

Am I the only one who's guessing this...or not?

P.S. the "famous last words" such as "Frankly my dear..." I got, but
Is "it's so clear standing here where I am" or "ain't that what
justice is for" from any books, plays or movies?

thanks

Yes, there certainly is. At least, there better be otherwise I bought
my car in a mythical town. (For the record, it's in Cape May county
New Jersey).

If you're guessing whether that's what he's referring to, your guess
is as good as mine. I think other people around here have come to
the same conclusion.

Tracey, my first intinct when looking at the second part of the question,
the one about the possible origin of "and it's so clear standing here
where I am", I ran straight to my copy of "The Great Gatzby" that I stole
from High school... I was convinced that the last few paragraphs of the
novel held the quote... but I was wrong. What I found was something that
suits Billy more than I realized. If you have a copy, by all means read
the last few paragraphs. It fits the song.

Favorite quotes: "Here I am, feeling like a f*cking fool..." Billy Joel,
"Laura" (TNC), and anything by Steve Michaud. (email me if you know what
I'm talking about...)

P.S. If anyone in Middlsex County knows of an actor or actress who wants
to be in a comedy troupe, I'm having auditions in January... eMail a

Re: Billys Avalon estate in NJ

According to the Billy/Elton Concert at Giants stadium, Billy said point
blank that he does not own a house in New Jersey. Everyone who went to
that concert, Please back me up...

I was at the show in New Jersey where he said he does not own a
house in New Jersey but he thought it was funny how rumours spread. He also
mentioned something about being told he had a house somewhere shaped like a
piano. Pretty funny stuff....As far as I know, he lives on Long Island
still because a short time ago a friend and I met a guy who told me
where he lived....

In article <3anv2e$6...@newsbf01.news.aol.com>,

Actually, what he said was that he doesn't own the piano shaped house in the
Hamptons that everyone attributes to him (although he does have a place out
there). I don't think he made any reference to a place in Jersey.
