Sweet!!!
Now that Claudia and David Copperfield are no longer an item, maybe she and
Billy could get together?!?!
Anyhoo, I absolutely love that video (I know alot of you NGers don't) and can't
wait to see the new version. Although it won't be the same without Sexy Billy
in his sexy tight black pants and sexy shades....

New Uptown Model

CHRISTIE BRINKLEY maintains that she has no hard feelings about being replaced
as the "Uptown Girl." She said that her former husband, BILLY JOEL, gave her
advance notice about the new video version of the 1983 song he wrote about her.
This time around, CLAUDIA SCHIFFER has the title role. In the original, Mr.
Joel was a garage mechanic who serenaded Ms. Brinkley through a fantasy about
marrying someone just like her, which, of course, he later did. Eventually, of
course, they divorced; Ms. Schiffer and Westlake recorded the new "Uptown Girl"
in January.

"When Billy told me, I thought, `I absolutely love it,' " Ms. Brinkley, above,
said on Tuesday at F. A. O. Schwarz, where she and her husband, PETER COOK,
presided at a benefit for Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center's pediatric
department. "I feel complimented that I'm being upgraded by being replaced by
the beautiful Claudia Schiffer."
