I am on the board of directors for Creative Arts in Reading, MA where my son
takes piano lessons. The school has many music and art offerings. For this
years Program Book - like a playbill that we use at all concerts - I would
like to place a full page ad saying "Best of luck to all the students and
faculty at Creative Arts, with love for music, Billy Joel". I'll pay the
$100.00 cost myself. I just think it would really charge up the students.
And, I don't want to do it without permission.
If anyone can let me know how to get in touch with him, I would greatly
appreciate it.
Thank you.

Before you buy.
Yeah, this will work. But if you e-mail Dan, I'm sure you could get his pager
#, or find out where he'll be at a specific time. That way you can just meet
him there.
Zing! (I don't have his pager #, but I do have his Social Security # if you
are interested...)

freak. :-)

Better yet, just keep in touch with Dan via cellphone. He'll call you from his
tree branch to let you know when hes pulling out, and where he appeared to be
going.
- JM
I have to hand it to you, Dan. You handled my original post with class, and
realized I was only joking with you, it wasn't meant as a personal insult.
Although that social security # thing does sort of worry me :)
Hey psolinger, I don't want any problems here....all i have is a question.
Why is it that even when a post thats absolutely not even "Dan" related, you or
someone else always has to turn it into one. i thought you guys were sick of
this guy? Why do you continue to bring him up on something not even related to
him if he gets on your nerves so much. And then when he does reply, all you do
is complain and ask him why he doesn't shut up. I have nothing against Dan, nor
am i a Dan supporter. but i just can't understand how you and some other people
turn about 95% of all posts this newsgroup into a Dan topic, and then bitch
about him responding to it. Wouldn't it be better to filter the guy out, like
some have said and done, not even mention him, and let the problem go away that
way. I can still remember the good old days when we actually discussed Billy
Joel in here. Hopefully someday we'll get back to that.
psolinger, please don't turn this into a flame war against me or anything.
I'm just asking what i feel is a totally legitquestion, thats all.
And a side note to Dan == Dude, it would probably be a good idea to not
even waste your time responding to everything thats said about you. This is
never gonna end until one side takes the initiative to not give a crap anymore,
and stop responding and continuing this annoying process. Who cares what people
say about you, are you that insecure that you have to defend your ego every
time someone says something. think about it. Just lay low and let this thing
blow over.

Okay, I'll answer your question, although I already addressed it in a previous
post. I was merely giving Dan some shit, just joking with him. I don't
seriously believe Dan has Billy's pager #, or that Dan camps out in a tree
across from his house. My post wasn't meant to be mailicious or mean-spirited.
I made my post knowing that Dan would respond. I was pleasantly surprised
that his response didn't include a flame back at me, or anyone else.
As far as I'm concerned, this is a public newsgroup, and I have as much a right
to say whatever I want as you or Dan do. If I choose to exercise that right by
ribbing Dan, that's exactly what I will do. I choose not to waste this post by
ripping on you or Dan, I'm merely stating my side of things.
No offense to you or Dan,

Right... And the fact that you believe anything and don't understand what
joking is, provides reason for someone to make calls about you.
Dan
Dan
>Right... And the fact that you believe anything and don't understand what

I think the fact that a smilie was present shows that the person understands
what joking is.
Doug
>Leave it to the people that are funny.
You'll inform us when you find some of those people, right?
Doug
I agree with everything that you said and you said it very well. I would also
like to say that it is a shame that you post something like this and then have
to put a disclaimer so that no one will start up with you.
And look, I have really cut down my replies in here to people bashing on me
from every angle, but you are right. I didn't post for a while, but when I
did, people began to slam me again. Then, even when I say nothing, somehow my
name gets brought up and people make jokes about me. So, I respond and defend
myself and they have a problem with that too. They say things about me and ask
me questions, when I reply, they tell me not to post. The problem may have
been me, but the source of the arguing is not me anymore. Take this latest
thing, what did I do to cause this thread? Yeah, I know, I said something 8
months ago, but lately, not really. Nothing that I caused.
Dan
Just stick to talking about Billy Joel, that is what people come in here to
read, not that I have Billy's pager number...
Dan
Perhaps. But his previous post was to call Maritime.
Dan
So any person who is trusting and has a sense of humor that doesn't meet your
standards should be reported to Maritime Music? And all this time, I thought
they were Billy's management company, not a psychiatric hotline.

believes anything they hear. This person could be a threat."

Oh, this makes a lot of sense Dan. You really *are* mentally
challenged...thanks for taking the time to prove that over and over again. And
yes, I did know you were "joking" (which is questionable since you're a stalker
freak) If anyone else on this newsgroup said that, it would have been funny.
But coming from you, it would make perfect sense, and if you had the chance,
I'm sure that would be on your wall with your Stony Brook poster. :-D
- JM
This would make perfect since in Dan's obsessive world.
"Hi, Maritime. The people on the Billy Joel newsgroup go on there and talk
about real life things, how dare them!! I try to provide them with up to the
minute news on Billy's bowel movements and tabloid stories, but they're not
interested!! Not everyone can be Billy's biggest fan like I am!"
- JM
Dan, the real comedian on this newsgroup is you. You're a total idiot, and make
good reading entertainment. Scary that you're out there in the real world
though.
-JM
1. We have tried to ignore him. He DOESN'T GO AWAY. Ever.
2. What the hell is Billy Joel doing these days that is sooo
interesting to discuss? If you want to discuss Billy Joel, why don't
*you* start a topic? Otherwise, don't complain.

And not a forum about Dan's Billy Joel list.

It's not out of the blue. It's because you do not offer us any worthy on-topic
information. What you offer is a thinly-veiled way to make yourself the center
of attention and then receive praise for it.
But whatever, you don't care. How lame. It doesn't matter. Blah blah blah...
Christine,
First of all, I wasn't necessarily complaining. Just trying to get some
information as to why some things happen.
Secondly, I stated i wasn't intending to start any flame wars with
anybody. And I won't, but damn, your just downright rude. I wasn't even talking
to you in the first place. Sure its a newsgroup, and anybody can respond. but
you should've just read that all i wanted was something answered, i got my
answer, and was satisfied with it. Case Closed! Why don't you just keep your
damn rude comments to yourself.
And thirdly, just because Billy isn't doing much these days, thats good
enough reason to turn this into a Dan newsgroup? I don't think so. And as for
me starting a topic, don't have one, but I do have a question if anyone knows
the answer......
Was the Sigma Sound Studio session recorded before or after Billy did his
6 month stint at the Piano Bar in LA?
I don't have an exact answer, just a guess. Since this thread has my name in
the subject, I feel it my duty to reply whether I know the answer or not :)
The sigma session was in 1972, I believe, and I want to guess that this is
after Billy worked in the piano bar (which was sometime in 71 or 72 I think).
Anyway, feel free to correct me, because it is just a guess.
Nice to care so much about this and so much about me.
;-)
Dan
I can see that conversation:
Dan: Yeah, Hi?
Maritime: Yes, may I help you?
Dan: Someone on the Billy Joel newsgroup believes anything and doesn't
understand what joking is!!!!!
Maritime: <Click>
Dan, please attempt to think before saying inane things.
Again, if you don't know the whole story, then you can't possibly make a
thought-out comment.
I wasn't even talkin

You are absolutely right. This is an unmoderated newsgroup, and I can
respond to whomever I choose.
> And thirdly, just because Billy isn't doing much these days, thats good

Righ. And if Dan would go away or stop saying inane comments, then no
one would ever talk about Dan again, as was evidenced when he stopped
posting for a week or so. Of course, he came back and called everyone
"lame" (unprovoked) causing people to become angry once again.
And as for

did his

That's much better.
Is it me or does everyone else see people being bored and replying to old
threads about me because they seem to be bored? Just stop already!!!
Dan
What the hell are you talking about?? I haven't seen a post on this thread
lately except for the one you just made!
<<This thread was from like 4 days ago -- why must you bring up things from the
past?>>
Another look into Dan's pathetic world... "Someone actually went 4 days without
checking for Billy Joel news on the net!!??" Will you ever understand that not
everyone that checks in here lives and breathes for Billy Joel? How many times
do several different people have to tell you that for you to get the point? I
can't believe you're not even a little embarassed. Scary!
-JM
>Holy cow! This thread was from like 4 days ago -- why must you bring up things
>from the past? Are you that bored and have that little to do that you have to
>find a way to bash me with old things? Get over it already!!!
And yet, you replied to the reply. Kudos for your remarkable restraint.
Doug
><<Is it me or does everyone else see people being bored and replying to old

>What the hell are you talking about?? I haven't seen a post on this thread
>lately except for the one you just made!
I hadn't either, for a while now, until Dan's response.
Doug
I think this sentence could use a comma somewhere.
Dan
Are you this thick??? Some people don't read the board every day. This
is a new thread to them.
I haven't checked the board all weekend. You see, I have this thing
called a LIFE which requires me to be away from the computer for days at
a time!!! I know that this may seem incomprehensible (and frightening)
to you. I have friends, place to go, and things to do. Reach far into
your imagination, and try to envision this type of life. I know you can
do it. You at least see that Billy Joel has a life (you follow him
around constantly).
Sorry you are so pathetic (yet amused nonetheless),
Christine
BTW, Dan, you need a little lesson in counting. The posts I replied to
were not from "4 days ago." They were posts made during the weekend.
Today is Monday. Do the freakin' math, genius.
Dan, if you could care less, then why do you bother to defend yourself by
answering every post with your name in it?
Just stop the debate once and for all.
I feel like I'm in the middle of a private conversation every time I read this
ng.
PATI
You people become angry when dan calls you a stupid name (and not even a bad
one at that) but he shouldnt get angry when you call him a name?
I think everyone has the right to post whatever, but I also think it should be
of some interest to the whole group, not just an argument between 2-3 people.
Can we all say "rebuttal"?
PATI
>Christine replied, twice -- today!
Well, I guess that makes you twice as good as her, since you only replied
once.
Doug
I don't personally get angry when Dan calls me anything. However, he
left the NG for 2 weeks, and his first post back was an insult to
everyone in the group. If he had simply come back and not made such an
unprovoked remark, no one would give a rat's ass. He cut off his nose
to spite his face. And he can't say that we are the ones who dwell on
him or his responses. The cold, hard fact is is that no one mentioned
Dan when he was not around. If he had come back, again, and written
normal posts, then these arguments would not continue. But he did, and
they do.

Use killfile if you don't like the posts. Filter the threads. This is
a free space, and these things happen.

To what?
I went to the bathroom, four times -- today!
Toonces, this is a BILLY JOEL newsgroup!! I would have appreciated an OT sign
on that one. Now "fellow Piano Fans", lets get back to discussing how many
times *Billy* has gone to the bathroom today! Who wants to buy a square? ;-D

Yeah, I'll take "six times". Fiber waits for no man.

you just picture it...

Of course I did; that was the next line in the show.
Doug
Not trying to pick a fight or argument with Dan or anyone, but isn't the
correct phrase "I couldN'T care less"? Basically, you're trying to say you
DO NOT CARE about something. If you say you COULD care less, then it shows
that you do care somewhat. The frequent misuse of this phrase is one of my
major pet peeves.
Thanks for letting the (ex) English teacher vent!
Renee
P.S.-Yes, now they make me teach Religion!! :-)
Sorry, it's been awhile since I've seen the episode. I can still see her
running out of the restaurant with all of that toilet paper! :)

It's definitely a great episode :-)
Doug
Billy Joel is definitely sponge-worthy!!!
Tee-hee :)
PATI
I nearly spit my iced tea out from laughing so hard! That episode was a
classic! :)
Sorry, I wouldn't touch this one with a ten-foot pole! My best suggestion to
you is to keep watching those Seinfeld reruns until you see the episode about
Elaine stocking up on "Today's Sponge" contraceptives.
