Featured players included David Brown on guitar, former member of Billy
Joel's band and legendary for his session work with Simon and Garfunkel,
Julian Lennon, and Paul McCartney. John Troy of Pousette-Dart and Bonnie
Raitt fame is on bass, Joey Scrima (Al Kooper, Taylor Dayne, many others)
is on drums. Return appearances by Steve Sadler on guitar (plus dobro,
mandolin, and bazouki) and Mike (Pepe) Ward Bergemann on keyboards for you
fans of my last CD, Resolution. Add to that incredible vocals by Ed Scheer
of the Love Dogs and Jackie Chambers on the female side, and you have- the
Inferno, by Greg Panfile with Talk and Roll. All basic tracks (up to 18 at
once) recorded live with up to seven musicians in the ensemble, sometimes
working without headphones, live in one room!
If you like Smile, or In Held Twas in I, or Thick as a Brick, or Sergeant
Pepper, or Tommy, you will want to hear this disk. For now, I am prepared
to burn (!) prerelease CDs for those who want to beat the rush and hear
this right away. Merely send $15 USA to me at
80 Jerrold St.
Holliston MA 01746 USA
and it's yours. For now you can view opinions of my previous work at my
website; the Inferno area is currently under construction but has the words
and some other cool info, musical samples to come later... Many of the
illustrate in a musical sense some viewpoints and ideas previously stated
in my magazine articles and postings... for example, the song Maybe We Can
Find Tomorrow is equivalent to my article Inner Lite: The Beatles and the
Maharishi; the song Nothing Like A Rose illustrates the ideas in my article
Andalusian Wood: The Hidden Factor; and the song I Don't Know Why takes a
very Keith Reid attitude toward intellectual alienation, similar to my
postings and articles on that subject.
Note that if you're not satisfied, it means you have poor taste, so there
will be no refunds or exchanges!!!-) Act now!
