When I saw BFF in Dallas, Ben said it was about one of their friends
whose been "in and out of half-way houses".

Oh, from the lyrics I'd always thought it was about some guy who's friends
were coming over to the hospital to see him.. and that 'Eddie Walker' was a
spasticated or heavily disabled person (about all the not being able to
walk properly?), and the comparisons between him and 'a normal person'. You
never had a coat or a tie etc...

Regards,
Pete

i always took it to be about a guy who really never adapted to society. he
always ended up relying on someone... his family or whoever to"pick him up when
he kept falling down."

all these people show up to where he works to get him to get his shit together
and try to make a normal life for himself.

ironically, the one person who he probably would like to see (mary joe), doesnt
have the time to come and see him. she's moved on with her life.

this is probably in my top 3 of BFF's songs. i wont say what the others are,
because we dont need that kinda thing going on again.

(sometimes i think i'll be like eddie walker when i grow up.)

craig.

i was listening to NBP just yesterday and for the first time, i totally "got"
eddie walker. my interpretation is irrelevant...it was the emotional rawness of
the song that i felt for the first time. i just sat in my car at the red light
with tears pouring down my cheeks. i don't know why it took so long to affect
me, but it did. i had a similiar experience with boxing. that song took well
over a year to finally grab hold of me. i knew that it was a great song, and i
understood its meaning, but it wasn't until a rainy day driving down peachtree
street in atlanta that it finally moved me. very odd...

ofcourse, earlier today i found myself weeping at the end of independence day,
so what this says about me, i'd rather not know.
:-) jeff goldblum, will smith, their women, the kid, the dog, the dad, dead
aliens...it just got to me!!!

I cried at the end of independence day too...probably for a completely
different reason...
A generation of children are growing up thinking that a Macintosh laptop is
compatible with alien hardware...I mean, half of the macs aren't even
compatible with other macs!!!

If that made any sense...
