Okay, from now on, everyone just ignore this person (JVV4sm). Sounds
like a good plan to me,
Martie
If one assumes that a Busshist only understands and is only exposed to
Buddhism.
> so
>really just shut up because you have know idea what you're talking about.
>that's not a command its just a request. and for the everyone else, go
>along with martie and ignore this guy.
Yeah, ignore me, it'll make you feel better.
Well then things work the other way around too...
You say a Buddhist can understand Shadrach, which takes its title from the Old
Testament. The Buddhist could not understand this if and only if "one assumes
that a Buddhist only understands and is only exposed to Buddhism."
Using this logic, one could state that a Christian or Jew or Moslem individual
could understand the Buddhist songs. They would not be able to understand them
if and only if "one assumes that a Christian/Jew/Moslem only understands and is
only exposed to Christianity/Judaism/Islam."
Thus, one needn't be a Buddhist to understand the quasi-Buddhist lyrics of the
Beastie Boys.
Peace,
Jared
I said MY Buddhism helped ME understand the Beasties' music better. When did I
say one HAD to be Buddhist to understand the Beasties. I WAS TALKING ABOUT MY
EXPERIENCE. Stop being so hateful and small-minded. YMMV
*Applause* I knew eventually he'd contradict himself and trip himself up.
Guy has way too big a mouth, talking way too much about what he doesn't
know. We've all been exposed a bit to Buddhism since the Beastie songs
kindof explain it and what not, and I've looked it up and read about it a
bit. So there ya go, we've been "exposed" and so has this drunken fool.
So, maybe if we close our eyes and click our heels together three times
he'll go away...
Monty =O)
Nope.
>Guy has way too big a mouth, talking way too much about what he doesn't
>know.
You're an expert on Buddhism and the Beasties? I saw the Beasties and Fishbone
in a club.

Your hatefulness makes me sad.
I am sorry, but I did not read your original post. From what I had read, I was
under the mistaken belief that you had claimed being a Buddhist was necessary to
understand the Beastie Boys.
I am very sorry.
Remember:
"When others disrespect me or give me flack
I stop and think before I react
Knowing that they're going through insecure stages
I take the opportunity to excercise patience
Nip It In The Bud Before It Can Worsen
A Change For Me To Be Strong And Sure
As I Think On The Buddhas Who Have Come Before
As I Praise And Respect The Good They've Done
Knowing Only Love Can Conquer In Every Situation
We Need Other People In Order To Create
The Circumstances For The Learning That We're Here To Generate
Situations That Bring Up Our Deepest Fears
So We Can Work To Release Them Until They're Cleared
Therefore, It Only Makes Sense
To Thank Our Enemies Despite Their Intent"
As a studier of Buddhism, the sort of philosophy MCA wrote about above should be
very known to you. I don't think lines such as "Stop being so hateful and
small-minded" exactly exemplify an individual who treats others with patience.
Especially since there was no hatred or small-mindedness involved on my part. It
was an honest mistake, which I apologize for.
Peace,
Jared
Murphy's Law was on the bill I saw. Are you sure abuot PE? I saw them
(Beasties, Fishbone, Murphy's Law) at the Stone in San Francisco. We drove
from Davis, so we missed most of ML's set.
> i saw the beasties perform with run-dmc on

The september shows were better. Did they try and fail to do "Girls" at every
show?
> how does that make you an expert? my
>doctor used to be the beastie officila doctor in new york, so tell me how hte
>fuck it makes you any better cause you saw them in concert with fishbone?
When did I say it made me better. You are letting your hatred win over reason.
Buddhism has opened all kinds of doors for me, most significant is a deeper
understanding of the Beasties.
none of you have figured it out yet have you......do you know who this JW4sm
is?
run a check......
it's one bad gag after another.......
It's all a bullshit act. I ran into him in a chat room, and guess what? No
mention at all of his precious buddhism!! He's either:
a) some spoiled rich teenage kid who's got nothing better to do with his time
then be a smartass, OR
b) he's some genius guy with a weird sence of humor, who's trying to show us
all how fucking stupid it is to change your personal views to be the same as
the bboys.
I personally think he falls into catergory number 1, but who knows. peace!!
Kathleen

Are you illiterate? Because if not, there's something called "reading." Wow!
new concept i'm sure, but just try it.
I must be one of those special illiterate people who can randomly form
sentences. You said you saw me in a chat room and were disappointed when I
didn't mention Buddhism. What were your questions?
No I didn't. I don't have any questions or you. Why would you suddenly be
able to "teach me", and answer all the problems in my life? Is it because I'm
a woman? You assume I am a mindless fool? I am very upset by this, and I
think you're "racist". Now I'm going to write to aol, and tell them you're
mean, and use dirty language, and you shouldn't be allowed to use the internet.
haha, just kidding!!
For real, I don't have any problem with you!! If you read my post, I stated
very clearly that "i thought..." I said you were either a punk kid, or a
genius!! If you had any sense of humor, you'd make some witty comment about
how brilliant you are. As far as the chat room, when you were there, you
seemed fairly normal, while here, you preach to everyone about how being
buddhist makes you closer to yauch, which is a bunch of shit. I just find it
amusing. But for real, if you're normally some wacked out guy, it's cool,
whatever. I really don't want to spend forever writing back and forth to you,
okay? cool. peace man, peace! Kathleen : )
Says you.

One more time: you don't like hearing about Buddhism, you followed me into a
chat room hoping to hear about Buddhism, were disappointed about not hearing
about Buddhism, and then posted that you were upset that I was not talking
about Buddhism?
All I'm asking is: What did you want in that chat room?
And I'm right.
>One more time: you don't like hearing about Buddhism, you followed me into a

I don't mind hearing about buddhism, i am not disapointed. Amazingly enough, I
didn't expect to hear about buddhism. So in plain, simple, English, here is
what I meant: I went into a NON BUDDHIST chat room. (i didn't follow you!)
You were there, i recodnised your screenname. You were speaking like a normal
human being, unlike when you post here. I found it amusing, and wanted to
share with others. did I ask you anything in the chat room? No. So, it seems
I didn't want ANYTHING from you, and WOW!! I still don't. Is there anything
else you need CLARIFIED, or DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE WORDS I HAVE JUST TYPED???
How can you be "right" about my perceptions? I've said over and over, Yauch
inspired me to become Buddhist, and now I understand the Beasties' music more
than I ever did. Why does this upset you?

I tend to go into eithe KISS or S&M chat rooms -- which one were you in ?
>You were speaking like a

Are you implying speaking about Buddhism is not "normal" or "human"?

What was so amusing?

Why did you expect me to talk about Buddhism in either a KISS or S&M chat room?
Check my posts in the SF Giants NG -- no Buddhism there, although Orlando
Cepeda is the first Buddhist elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
What was the point of THAT?
Are you yelling at Yauch?
> DONT YOU HAVE TO GO OUT AND GET SOME PEOPLE THAT WILL LISTEN TO
>YOU? CAN YOU SAY "DAVIDIAN?"
"Davidian." That's not a hard word.
Who?
Yes. Since you refuse to quote previous articles, I have no idea what you're
talking about.
