I hope not. I like songs like those once in a while, but it's best when
they're all intermingling in the verses with each other.

I think he means like in So watcha want for instance.

Super Disco Breakin, Shake Your Rump, Jimmy James, even something like Rock
Hard. Where they have a verse or two (or less), then switch off.
I'm not a big fan of the Sure Shot / Intergalactic / Alive type format, where
they each get a medium sized verse, chorus, rotate, and so on. But what I like
least is when the song is broken into 3 long parts, such as Professor Booty and
3 Minute Rule. Oddly enough, I really like both those two songs, but I think
the song layout takes away the potential for them to be amazing.
I agree, I like solo songs, or songs with extended verses by wach member. I
just like that to be the exception, and not used too much. And Yauch can never
top Year and a Day.
he does pretty good in professor booty and stand together and Bodhistava Vow..
i like flowin prose too!
Not a chance.
I wouold say absolutely not, I would say that the beastie boys wouldn't even
consider this themselves. I say this due to the fact that "WE" are here. We
being a fan base that continues to be very strong!
4-ever
They were pretty righteous on both IC and HN and they pull it off.
HN is a very thick stew. Something like that has to take years to
create. 5 years is a long time, but if they come up with another HN,
then it will be worth it.

I think te next one will be comparable to Check you head!!!
i don't know about that Gwedo but mark my words..........if, and thats a big
IF, they do another album.........it will not be recepted with the same fanfare
the other ones have AND the content will make HN loook like an eminem
record.............
then why are you here? why come to a beastie newsgroup to dis the beasties
(this isn't the first time) I mean seriously, at times you seem to be their
number one fan, then others, you just seem like a simple troll..
you are the biggest critic, you have to be a huge fan to care so much about a
band in order to feel like the fact that they put out another record could be a
bad thing for you....
at least i would hope that you are a huge fan!
this is what i was kinda getting at with the other dude, it is just like they
only know LTi and hate everything else but LTI...i haven't gone so far as to
ask why...but i do get the feelings they have some ill feelings towards their
favorite band?.
why not start alt.licensedtoill.goggle
or sumt sumt...
I on the other hand plan on buying as many different versions of all new songs
as possible when they come out....but also i have no idea why i would...!
:)
troll? can someone school this person on who i am? the best work the beastie
have done were thier first and second full length album. case closed. its my
opinion. im not into the instrumentals and jam session stuff
DAMN good answer....and to think i got tricked into asking myself...i think
that HN is betta than PB but that since PB has been around longer than it is
better cause its old and all original...paved streets and shit!
i am rambling....oh and gwedo the soon to be X motherin law said she wants to
ruin my life daily and kill me ...i picked a mental family bride,
(i thought she was an angel)
stay away from the depressed ones KIDS!
But you just contradicted yourself. It can't be case closed, if you're going
on just your opinion. You need to preface it with "I think" or something to
that effect.
On the subject, I'd disagree. LTI is good, and a classic. However it's frat
boy rap rock, and is as terrible as it is amazing. You're right that PB is one
of their best, as I feel it is their best. However i think their lyric writing
was the best on PB and Hello Nasty.
I also agree with you on this. However excluding those songs on the last 3
albums, the raps and songs such as Gratitude and Sabotage are much better than
what they did on LTI.
but I asked _you_ gwedo, why are you here? Why do you seem to dominate this ng
like you're the number one fan, when you don't enjoy their work? Why are you
living in the past? I didn't say you were a troll, I said you seem like one
because of the way you antagonize people here.

well he aint # 1 ...but as far as the rest ....he does and he is...so to

muah!
did you quote that from a magazine or just get out of summer school english, or
maybe i think you might have an opinion about something else besides what
gwedoking does here...
i feel like making a comment based on the fact that if you overlap the two
songs cept play one backwards then you could almost see a style in pure PUNK!

Huh?
i totally agree.....
Everyone's got there own issues and causes, and Yauch's family and beliefs make
Tibet a personal issue for him. Most people do zero to help with other people's
problems, so the oppurtunity to do anything positive is a good thing, regardless
of where you're from. Yes we have our own problems, but we really have it better
than _many_ others, especially people in places like Tibet.
If you don't understand why people do humanitarian work on a worldwide scale,
then I suspect there's a lot going on that you don't agree with. I'm not here to
explain compassion to you, I would just like to see more people post here who
have other things to talk about than 'my friend says this' and 'did I tell you
kiddies'. That shit is obnoxious, I don't care who your friend is and you
shouldn't refer to people _you don't know_ as 'kiddies' in general. Don't be so
condescending...
And you still didn't answer my question.
what was the question again?
i think Yauch should concentrate on things happening in his own backyard, not
his second home on the other side of the world.
Also, it should be known just WHY the Tibetans are in need of help.
Especially when we start doing more business with China.

i haven't got the impression that they ony care about tibet, i think yauch took
it on as a small thing that he could hopefully help the peace...i agree that at
home issues are small too...it is just that in his belief he sees the whole
picture...ie Tibet is like a butterfly trying to spread its beautiful wings but
some one has put it in a jar and it is dying...if this could be reversed
somehow peacefully on a small level then maybe all major issues and home issues
could follow suit..
i care about my family and friends not so much anything else!
thank god i am american!
I was waiting for you to 'school' me on who you are.
I wasn't trying to belittle any domsticate issues people try to help with, I
just meant that as few people as there are able to help, those that want to
would do more good towards an issue they feel genuinely concerned about. You
can't really ask an individual to stray from where their heart leads them.
The world doesn't seem as small a place once you've traveled to some of these
places and met the people who are being affected.
> ...ie Tibet is like a butterfly trying to spread its beautiful wings but

Nice analogy, thanks.

In the current state of things we are as fortunate as we could hope for, but we
are still far from perfect, as is evident when reading gwedo's opinions on just
about any subject.

As a rule I like Funkadelic stuff a lot better than Parliament (too dancy),
but Motor Booty Affair is a great CD. If you are truly interested in this
track, I'll be ripping it onto my hard drive tonight (as soon as I finish
listening) and I'll leave Kazaa up tonight and tomorrow while Im at work. I
just trust you will listen to it once and delete it ;)
