may be over, I thought I'd keep the best of the beasties boys debate
back on the tips of everyones debates.
I stayed out of the LTI and HN question but I personally think that as
in many groups and bands a first success release as LTI was was only a
first step into where they have blending thier style and sound. For me
Pauls Boutique had my fav lyric style. But then by CYH they blew off the
dust from thier instrument and created my favourite work yet. Every new
release has evolved from there pretty well though. Still my only concern
with what may come out next is the possoble censorship that MCA might
push on the other two. The fact that Ad Rock seems to be most of thier
creative flow now days means some of his new lyrics might become
retarded my MCA new found protect the ears of the world views. If that
is the case I honestly don't think we are far from the demise of the
guys. Not that I think Ad rock will have any trouble. I personally love
that funky BS 2000 shit.
Anyway there you have it.

I hope not. I like songs like those once in a while, but it's best when
they're all intermingling in the verses with each other.

I'm not a big fan of the Sure Shot / Intergalactic / Alive type format, where
they each get a medium sized verse, chorus, rotate, and so on. But what I like
least is when the song is broken into 3 long parts, such as Professor Booty and
3 Minute Rule. Oddly enough, I really like both those two songs, but I think
the song layout takes away the potential for them to be amazing.

I agree, I like solo songs, or songs with extended verses by wach member. I
just like that to be the exception, and not used too much. And Yauch can never
top Year and a Day.

I wouold say absolutely not, I would say that the beastie boys wouldn't even
consider this themselves. I say this due to the fact that "WE" are here. We
being a fan base that continues to be very strong!

They were pretty righteous on both IC and HN and they pull it off.
HN is a very thick stew. Something like that has to take years to
create. 5 years is a long time, but if they come up with another HN,
then it will be worth it.

only know LTi and hate everything else but LTI...i haven't gone so far as to
ask why...but i do get the feelings they have some ill feelings towards their
favorite band?.

I on the other hand plan on buying as many different versions of all new songs
as possible when they come out....but also i have no idea why i would...!

But you just contradicted yourself. It can't be case closed, if you're going
on just your opinion. You need to preface it with "I think" or something to
that effect.
On the subject, I'd disagree. LTI is good, and a classic. However it's frat
boy rap rock, and is as terrible as it is amazing. You're right that PB is one
of their best, as I feel it is their best. However i think their lyric writing
was the best on PB and Hello Nasty.

pissin me off latley about the beastie boys. for one, why are they so obsessed
with tibet? if they care so much, let them live there, not here. look at
yesterdays demonsttrations about bloombergs billion dollar school cut. who
came out to voice thier opinions.....russell, run, ll cool j, jay z, alicia
keys. thats something the beasties should be doing.....voicing themselves about
what WE are going through, not others. we have our own problems as much as
anyone else.

Everyone's got there own issues and causes, and Yauch's family and beliefs make
Tibet a personal issue for him. Most people do zero to help with other people's
problems, so the oppurtunity to do anything positive is a good thing, regardless
of where you're from. Yes we have our own problems, but we really have it better
than _many_ others, especially people in places like Tibet.
If you don't understand why people do humanitarian work on a worldwide scale,
then I suspect there's a lot going on that you don't agree with. I'm not here to
explain compassion to you, I would just like to see more people post here who
have other things to talk about than 'my friend says this' and 'did I tell you
kiddies'. That shit is obnoxious, I don't care who your friend is and you
shouldn't refer to people _you don't know_ as 'kiddies' in general. Don't be so
condescending...

I wasn't trying to belittle any domsticate issues people try to help with, I
just meant that as few people as there are able to help, those that want to
would do more good towards an issue they feel genuinely concerned about. You
can't really ask an individual to stray from where their heart leads them.
The world doesn't seem as small a place once you've traveled to some of these
places and met the people who are being affected.
