"You should check the last time that Grand Royal updated their news
page... it was before the Luscious Jackson LP came out, which means they
haven't posted any news for half a year at the least... and they are
notoriously slow at updating their web page. Also, they did put up a
press release dated 9/95 (!) that confirmed that the Beasties were working
on a new album (then titled "Underwater Rhymes," which I think is a much
doper title), so they are long overdue. Also, people are absolutely
right; it is routine in the music industry for contacts at other labels to
get advance tapes of new releases, often while songs are still in progress
and before the final version has been mastered. So why doubt this guy?
Even if he were lying, his description of the new album is interesting.
And ABOVE ALL, it has people on this newsgroup talking about the Beastie
Boys again, which we should do a lot more of; for too long this group has
been dominated by spam about money-making schemes and XXX sites. Pull
together, Beastie fans, and be nice to the guy... if he's lying, the truth
will come out eventually; but if he's telling the truth, all the people
who dissed him have prevented the rest of us from getting more info on the
album. Think before you post, people.
