Ma Bell was slang for Bell Communications, the only phone company that was
available before deregulation. However, the bigger they got, the worse
service got and more and more pepole complained. Therefore the Government
stepped in and broke up Bell Communications into lots of smaller
companies. SO...when they say "Like Ma Bell I got the Ill
Communications..." get it now?

reason... it involves SKILL, TEAMWORK, FITNESS, and too many other things
to list. It's a beautiful game, but you can't appreciate it unless you have
played it, or watched for many years. Granted, games decided by a coin toss
suck ass, but I also think shoot outs suck... soccer has those, as does
almost every other sport.
You don't understand the LOYALTY issue that a lot of soccer fans have, ie.
English fans. It's more about their country than just the game... I'm not
going to bother trying to explain this, you wouldn't get it.

Actually, I watched a few games while I was in England and Italy cause that is
all that was on tv. Yes, it is a great workout-there is a lot of running. And
you don't have to watch it for years to see that-any idiot can see it is a good
workout. There are very few to zero fat soccer players. I don't consider
jogging a sport either, though. It is a good workout. Like riding a stationary
bike or a rowing machine. GREAT workouts, shitty sports.

England between fans of Manchester United and Sussex (I think it was Sussex).

Why would your team loose due to a coin toss? With soccer the coin toss
dicides who can play off first, after half time the other team gets to play
off, so none of the teams play at advantage.

The Afghanistan fiasco, again, had absolutely nothing to do with the game of
soccer. It just doesn't say much for Afghanistan...
Soccer is great. You can say you don't like it, but saying it isn't a sport
is ridiculous and ignorant.
Synchronized swimming, race walking, ballroom dancing, and bridge (the card
game)...are not or should not be sports...yet they are all either Olympic
events or Olympic "demonstration sports". THOSE are ridiculous. Soon to be
followed by "go fish", the 100m crawl, and holding your breath underwater no
doubt...
And no you idiot, the US women's team didn't win that game by a coin toss.
The U.S. and Brazil tied 0-0, and that left them both tied at the top of
their group. All the tie-breaker stuff (goal differential, most goals
scored, etc.) didn't determine a group winner, so it went to a coin toss.
U.S. won it, so they won the group and went on to play a crappy opponent;
and Brazil, 2nd in the group, had to play China (they are good). If you
check the rulebooks, you'll see that other team sports have similar
coin-flipping rules to determine winners when tied in a group to advance to
the playoffs. MLB plays a game to decide the winner. I'm certain the NFL
flips a coin if there's a tie. Not too sure about NBA and NHL. But I guess
you must hate the NFL eh? Not a sport certainly.....

actually starting to watch a little more of it since there was nothing on tv one
afternoon. I never siad it wasnt tiring. If you would read my posts, I admit
that it is good excercise. Those guys are all in great shape (to repeat
myself). There are very few in any fat soccer players.
My beef was with the Women's World Tournament a couple weeks ago and the fact
that at the end of the game the winner was decided by a coin fucking toss. Not
in the Figurative sense. THE REFEREE PULLED A FUCKIN COIN OUT OF HER FUCKING
POCKET AND THE WINNER WAS DECIDED THAT WAY!!!!! How come no one has been able to
explain this to me so it makes sense? (i know, that sentance alone will be quoted
out of context with some Jethro (didnt want to disappoint) saying that I'm too
stupid to explain things to anyway). We can sit here all day and discuss which
sport, activity or freaking COLOR is better to no avail. EVERYONE HAS THEIR OWN
OPINION. You like soccer? Great. Think NASCAR is a sport? Wonderful. Hate
Raccoons? Perfect. All I wanted to know is how they could decide a game by that
means after 90 minutes of all out running around and working. Thats all.

Actually, I started this thread in answer to a question: "Who is on the cover
of Ill Communicaiton?" I answered, albiet somwhat half-assedly, but someone
got their feelings hurt 40 posts ago, and it got turned into a difference of
