Thirsk Royal British Legion Band, Thirsk, NORTH YORKSHIRE, United Kingdom (Non contesting) has an immediate vacancy for a conductor.
Due to an increase in work commitments of our current M.D., an exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of M.D. of the Thirsk Royal British Legion Brass Band. This non-contesting band enjoys a varied schedule of engagements from theatre appearances to summer fetes. As a Royal British Legion band we are exceptionally proud to represent the Legion at high-profile events such as the Thirsk Remembrance Day Parade, and in 2016 we had the honour of playing at the Menin Gate in Ypres. We plan a further tour to Belgium in 2020.The Main Band is complemented by a thriving Training Band under its own M.D. and work together to ensure transition between the two bands. The desire to support the work and ensure the continued success of our Training Band must be a priority for any applicant.The band is a friendly, hard-working and committed group who aspire to a high standard of music-making whilst enjoying the process.
