QUOTE
"I was very saddened when the divorce happened back in 1999. I was
saddened that two families were ripped apart and the children were the
total innocent recipients. As soon as it was announced that Amy and
Gary were divorcing, I knew that she had plans to end up with Vince.
Over the years Amy has taken most of the blame for the divorce. What
bothered me the most and still bothers me is that even though she has
taken the blame, she still got what she wanted, which was Vince. Her
main focus through the whole divorce and ripping apart her family was
to end up with Vince Gill. I have never believed that she went through
that divorce and intended to end up alone. She and Vince may not have
had a physical relationship, but they were definitely involved in an
emotional relationship. They wanted everyone to believe that they were
just friends and they they had no plans to get together later on. I do
not believe that for one minute. Amy went through the divorce with the
sole intention of marrying Vince and having a baby. She and Vince were
married and pregnant within a year of her divorce from Gary. That was
very quick for it not to have been planned ahead of time.
I am not judging Amy or Vince. I would just have had a lot more
respect for them if they would have told the truth and quit trying to
make everyone believe that they were just friends. Due to their
actions, both of their careers have suffered. They still do concerts
and make money, but neither of them are the high profile stars that
they once were.
I am still a fan of both Amy and Gary. They are both very talented and
great artists. I will always listen to their music. I don't know what
all happened in their marriage, but I believe that Amy would have
stayed with Gary if Vince had not entered the picture. Amy Grant did
not get a divorce to be by herself. She knew that she would end up
with Vince.
I just wanted to touch on this topic. It is not really a big deal
anymore. It is old news. I guess it still bugs me sometimes because I
am a fan of both Amy and Gary. I would never judge either of them. I
just wish that she and Vince would have told the truth from the
beginning. I hope they are happy together since they went to so much
trouble to be together."
