This past Wednesday, Earth Crisis played a show here in Cleveland at
Peabody's Down Under, opening up for downset, and playing along with
Tree, VOD and Crown of Thorns. Anyways, they were almost through with
a good set when something happened. A little setup: here in Cleveland,
there is a band called One Life Crew who were formerly on Victory
Records until they started to write racist lyrics and were booted off
the label. Well, aparently Earth Crisis has had some harsh words for
them, setting up this feud between the two bands. Anyways, throughout
Earth Crisis' set, the guys from OLC were yelling out stuff like '216'
(cleveland's area code) and saying stuff like 'this is our turf'.
During EC's last song, apparently one of the guys from OLC got up on
the stage and pushed Karl, (lead singer of EC) into the crowd. The
band stopped and then words were exchanged, during which one of the
guitar players used his guitar like a baseball bat to hit on of the
members of OLC. Well, he missed and hit my friend who was up front in
the head. My friend got smacked pretty good and had to get 12 stiches
in his head. Meanwhile, the bouncers from the club got on stage and
made sure nothing futher would happen. Some members of EC had to be
restrained and one yelled out to OLC, "I'll have your fucking head on
a stick". This was what happened.
Anyways, my friend was helped to the hospital by a friend of OLC's who
apologized for what happened and was a good help to him. This is more
than I can say for Earth Crisis. They neither apologized or even cared
what happened to my friend who did nothing wrong but ended up getting
12 stiches to the head. Earth Crisis tries to show this image of being
for human rights and animal rights and all this other crap but they
see nothing wrong with hitting an innocent fan in the head with a
guitar? The bouncers at the club were right there nearby, ensuring
that the OLC guys would not get a shot at EC so why did EC have to
lash out like that. And why did they not apologize when they knew that
they had injured an innocent fan? I think they need to rethink they
bragging about being all for human rights and that other bullshit. The
fact is they had no right to do that and should be punished for what
they did. My friend is seriously considering pressing charges and I
totally support him. This could have all been avoided if they were
truly for "human rights" and actually cared about people. Now they
will have to pay for what they did. Something to think about....

Earth Crisis are nothing more than jocks. The sooner more people realise
this, the better. God help them if they ever play the UK again; they
won't have their 'security' to help them if things get too hot for them
over here.

Voorhees are cooler, and cuter, than Earth Crisis.

first you denigrate earthcrisis for being jocks, then you talk about
beating them up. what kind of idiots are you people?

So Lecky's violent reputation is so notorious, eh?!
Yeah, he'd fit into EC really well. That guy will beat any kid down for
any stupid excuse. I've never been to show where he *hasn't* kicked off
with some kid.

Did I even *hint* at beating them up? The point I was making was, they
had better not start any trouble, should they play in the UK again.
Otherwise they'd be pretty damn short of friends to bail them out.
That's all...

you would have me (and anyone else reading this thread) believe that this
isn't a threat?

"they won't have their 'security' to help them if things get

you are an idiot.

John
I think that you're reading too much into my post. It is *not* a threat
at all. (If I pay good money to see a show, I'd like it violence-free,
thank you). Again, the point was that EC should show a little restraint
if they come over or they could not find themselves in hot water, as I'm
sure there could be someone in the audience who's not as tolerant as
myself.

How many more times do I have to explain?

i think what we're forgetting here is that this altercation was with
OLC - the same people who caused shit in cleveland at that fest (or
rather allegedly). sure it wasn't that smart a thing on EC's part,
but pressing charges is not the solution, imho.

my two cents.

mark.

Two bands that bring a bad name to hardcore are gonna beat the shit
outta each other? Hopefully no one will be left standing. The big
question is, how was Tree?
