I was just at the Weezer concert in Toronto last night (March 24th) and I
thought that I'd review it for anyone who actually cared.
At the last minute, they added two more bands to the list, making there
four. The first was not a band, but just a guy, named Hayden. (A local). I
thought he was really original..he just played an accoustic guitar and sang.
Everyone liked him. He kind of reminded me of Adam Sandler.
Then came a band who I think are called Christian Cyonic. (I've never heard
of them before). But they were the best band there. The got the crowd all
hyped up and moshing, and they played a really good set.
After that, Archers Of Loaf went on. These guys had some good songs and at
the beginning it was really good, but they were on for a bit too long and
people started getting tired.
Finally it was Weezer. Don't get me wrong, I still love them, but they're
not that great live. The sound wasn't the best (but that's not their fault)
and they seemed anxious just to get off the stage. They played every song on
their album except for HOLIDAY, and a few others including Jamie and some
new stuff. They didn't do an Encore. But the last song, Surf Was America,
was really good. And They played Say it ain't so VERY slow, but heavier,
which made it neat.
The crowd was pretty good. The mosh pit quickly got started and there was
lots of crowd surfing and everything. So overall it was well worth $15
canadian.
If anyone reading this was their please tell me what you thought!

This guy is part of another band in Toronto. He played acoustically
at the Year of Grunge (or what ever that show is near the end of
the year (has something to do with grunge)) at the Opera House.

I haven't heard his band, but I've heard him solo/acoustically before,
and I thought he was great.

Pretty sure all the bands with the exception of Weezer were local. I
wasn't at the show but I saw Weezer when the openned for Lush in August
of last year. I wouldn't pay $15 to see them solo. Especially at THAT
venue.

You forgot to mention that the show was at the Warehouse. The cheapest
most shitty hole that I've ever been at in Toronto. It was also
sponsored by CFNY - oops, used to be a good station, but they can no
longer promote a show worth a #@&!

That indicates a shit crowd - as is usual with a little kids all-ages
concert. That's one of the biggest reasons I avoid some shows now. I'm
not going to go see Siouxsie next month for two reasons: It's at the
Warehouse and it's "All-Ages." At least when they resort to letting in
children, the Phoenix has a pretty good bar area perfect for viewing the
show.

Only dorks mosh and crowd surf. You know who I am? I'm one of the guys
that grabs the surfers and pummels them to the ground. And yes, I'm
proud of it. I've saved at least two lives of smaller people at shows.

Bruno.

Tristan Psionic were the second group, and they were quite good.
As for Weezer not doing an encore, how could they? As soon as they left
the stage all the little kids had to go outside and get a ride home from
their parents (stupid all age shows).

Ps

And dont call me a yippee!

umm, I'm pretty sure the second act was Tristan
Psionic...see, that's why lame-ass bands who plan to depend on "buzz"
instead of talent or originality pick easy-to-spell-and-remember
names...like, say, CUB!!!
